Akima's POV
The sky people were sent back to their dying world. A few choose to stay and fewer were chosen. Norm's avatar was treated, though it was a few weeks before he could link with it again. On Jake's birthday, he did the consciouness transfer, leaving his human body behind for good.
Jake and Neytiri now lead the Omayticaya. Though Mo'at is still Tsahik. Neytiri is pregnant with their future baby. Speaking of babies, a few months after the battle it was discovered Grace's avatar was pregnant. Her avatar is in a coma. We have no idea who the father is or how she is pregnant. But I spoke to Neytiri and Jake about what to do. We agreed to raise the baby together. But Jake and Neytiri would be it's parents.
I would have done it. But ever since the lose of his brother and the massive fight Aries had with his parents. I know he is not in the right head space to raise two babies. Especially, one that isn't his. Though I know he will be an amazing father and love any child we raise. I just don't want to push him while he is still grieving the lose of his brother.
I am due to give birth soon. We have moved a lot. The clan. We tried living near Hell's Gate. But there was to much history. So we moved back to the jungle and lived in small villages near each other. We are settling down into our new home. But we do miss Home-tree.
Speaking of Home-tree I am there currently. I look at the wasteland around me. "Why are you here?" Aries asks me as we appears.
"Remembering the good times" I tell him. "It will be a long time before we can live here again" I state.
"You think we'd be able to return one day?" he asks me.
"Not in our life time" I tell him and he scowls.
"Sky people killed our home" he snarls.
"Fire is a killer" I tell him as I look around. "But sometimes what caused distraction can lead to a stronger home then before" I state as I uncover a sprout. "See the forest is recovering and not just here. Everywhere the sky people destroyed is recovering. Even the trees of voices" I tell him with a smile.
"Thank you, for sharing this with me" he says as he hugs me.
"We may never see Home-tree return to it's former glory and our kids may not. But out descendants will" I tell him."Until then, we will continue to protect the people and raise our future baby. Maybe have a couple more" I state.
"I like the sound of that" he states hugging me. "Lets go, we are late for a pride meeting" he reminds me. I nod my head. Aside from Loki. We did not lose any pride members the day of the battle. Thank Eywa.
But I did lose more of my pack. I was there to see them off though. For their burials. The pack has moved deeper into the forest where there is more food. Closer to the Well of Souls. Where Eywa will protect them.
Anyway, our pride has grown and I have no doubt it will continue to grow. We arrive and join the head of the circle. 'Anything to report?' Aries asks.
'Nothing' Lars states.
'Keep up patrols. Just because we drove the sky people away. Does not mean that they will not return one day' Aries states.
'Aries is right, we must continue to train and stay alert. While it will be at least twelve years before the sky people return. We cannot become complacent. We must be ready for anything' I tell the pride. They all nod their heads in agreement.
'That being said, please enjoy this time of peace while it lasts. Spend time with your mates and family. Live your lives' Aries tells the pride.
'Agreed' I say and groan placing my hand on my stomach.
"Are you ok?" Aries asks me.
"I have been having pains most of the morning" I say sheepishly.
"We must go see Tsahik" he states. 'Meeting is over, pride dismissed' he tells the others. He help me up and leads me away. We go to the healing hut. Where Mo'at is tending to a younger hunter.
"I see you, Tsahik" we say. She smiles and sends the hunter on her way.
"I see you both, what is the matter?" she asks us.
"Akima is in pain" Aries tells her.
"I thought it was false labor pains, but they have become more frequent" I tell her. She nods and presses lightly on my stomach.
"You are in labor" she states. "Aries get Neytiri and wait outside" she orders. He nods and leaves. I would have rather had him present. But it is the Omaticaya why that men are not present for the birth. But I know he will come in the moment our son or daughter is born.
(Time skip)
I had a son. Aries and I had talked often about what we'd name our baby. We consider naming him after Tsu'tey. But decided against it, for now. Maybe our second son. We always had a name picked for a girl. Oare, it means Moon in Na'vi. But we had a boy and not a girl.
"Jake, Neytiri meet our son Lu'pin" I tell them as Aries holds our son smiling with pride. (Pronounced: Lu-pan, not Lo-pen). I have already bonded with our son and feed him.
"He is tiny" Jake states and Neytiri slaps his chest gently.
"He looks strong" Neytiri tells us with a smile. "I can't wait to have our little one" she says as she strokes her belly.
"Won't be long now" Jake assures her.
"Just a few more months, then you're little one will arrive. Then not long after so will Grace's" I state.
"We'll be there for you both, whatever you need" Aries tells them.
"We could take turns baby sitting, giving each other a break" Jake suggest.
"Yeah, so that we can have date nights" I say with a soft smile.
"I live the sound of that" Neytiri agrees and we all smile. "We will leave you with your son" she states. She and Jake leave. Aries helps me up and we head to our family tent. Where I add a new bead to our family's song cord as I sing softly. Aries cradling our sleeping son.
"You have a beautiful voice, my Akima" Aries tells me. I smile gently as I place the cord down. I crawl over to him and lean into him looking at our son.
"He is perfect" I tell him.
"He is, thank you" he says.
"No, thank you" I say and kiss him gently. "Think you can grab me some food?" I ask him. He nods and hands me our son. He kisses me and leaves. I fall asleep holding our son before he could return with my food.
Aries' POV
I was held up on my way back. Many were congratulating me on my son. The pride were wondering when they could meet him. I told them in a few days. As Akima and I wanted to bond with our son. They understood.
When I return I see Akima asleep with our son in her arms. I smile and place the bowl of fruit down. I lay behind her and hold them close. "I will protect you both always. I will not fail you both or our future family" I vow in na'vi. Before letting sleep take over me.
