Sandhu House
Satti paced around the living room, only stopping to text Jasmine repeatedly as she waited for the rest of the Sandhus to return. After Jasmine ate the spicy ice cream, she couldn't stop screaming. No matter what remedy they used, the pain wouldn't go away hence Gurpreet and Satti insisted the others take her to the hospital. She was pregnant after all. Having had his fill of the bond between Tejo and Raishinghanias, Kushbeer took this as an opportunity to leave with Satti in tow.
Jasmine was fine post-treatment, however, her mouth was completely swollen. So much so that she couldn't speak nor could she swallow her food, the doctors decided to admit her and attach her to an IV until the swelling reduced. Satti naturally wanted to stay beside her, but Gurpreet was adamant about waiting on her for the sake of her grandchild.
'That evil spawn!' Satti gritted her teeth as she recalled Vivaan admitting he added the chilli into her ice cream. 'Hatt lag Jaye mere woh,' Satti clenched her fists, 'Aisa tamcha marungi ki prank karna bul jaaye woh.'
"What's going on?" Sushmita watched Jasmine act like a cavewoman--milk spilling all over her as she chugged it-- and frowned.
"She lost the roulette," Vivaan shrugged and continued eating his ice cream making the Sandhus and Virks furrow their brows in question.
"What did you do Vivi?" Riddhima narrowed her eyes at him, asking the question that was on everyone's mind.
"I wanted us to try the world-renowned spicy ice cream," he replied noncommittedly, "but since our taste buds were already assaulted, I decided only one person should get the chance. I didn't want to waste the ghost pepper concentrate so I added only one tablespoon." He looked at Jasmine and added, "She was the lucky one."
'Lucky?' the staff snapped their neck in his direction, 'Then, who was the one that repeatedly told us to serve this to her? Vivi baba, your acting skills are scary!'
"Vivi!" Riddhima glared at him. However, she didn't scold him further. Satti could even see hints of mirth in her eyes. She had no intentions of actually rebuking him and nor did anyone else. They just watched Jasmine writhe in pain as Gurpreet and Satti ran around trying to help her until they decided to take her to the hospital. Before leaving she caught Tejo calmly eating her ice cream making her frown.
While Satti was upset about Raishinghas's reactions, Tejo's nonchalance infuriated her. She tolerated Tejo's lack of warmth towards Jasmine, for they had bad blood between them. Her resistance towards Jasmine being part of the wedding functions could be forgiven in the name of her insecurity. However, Satti could not accept her sitting there, without a hint of worry, while her sister was in pain.
'Let her come,' Satti flared her nose, 'I will get this topic sorted today itself. Two sisters shouldn't act like this.'
She paced around for another hour or so before the rest of the Sandhus arrived. She frowned when she couldn't see Tejo. "Where's Tejo?" she questioned.
"Tejo stayed back," Lovely informed her, and left to get everyone water, "Preeta Ji wanted her to stay to help around in the preparations for Ganesh Mohatsav."
Satti turned to Rupy, who was massaging his foot while chatting with Harmaan and Abhiraj, and her temper flared. "Wah!" Satti clapped, her nostrils enlarged, "Akal toh dekho Janab ki! You left her there? She is not married yet, what will the people in the pind say? As it is, her two marriages are-"
"Beeji," Rupy closed his eyes, controlling his anger, "I am very happy today, I don't want anyone to ruin it. Tell her to keep her mouth shut."
"Right, and why are you so happy Sandhu Sahab?" she gritted her teeth, "Your younger daughter is in hospital, and you left your elder one at her in-laws before marriage! Kis baat ki Kushi hai? Just a few nice words and you will dance on their tunes. Are you stupid?!"
