Sandhu House, Tejo's room
Tejo exhaled painfully, as the tears flowed down her face continuously. She clutched her bedsheets tightly to stop herself from screaming. Her throat constricted, making it harder for her to breathe. 'Why?' she repeated in her head, 'Why did you have to ask?! You were better off without knowing the truth.'
More tears spilled, as she recalled his words.
In Front of the Virk House
She looked at the exterior of the house in a daze, and whispered to herself, "The beginning was full of sorrow, and so is the end." She chuckled humorlessly, "Life comes to a full circle after all."
"Tejo," Abhiraj said softly, "chale?" She nodded.
"Tejo!" She turned around to see the reason for her tears rushing towards her. She turned her face around, not wanting to look at the loathsome man. "Tejo," he said standing near her, "I wanted to..."
Abhiraj came in between them, glaring at Fateh, "Back off."
"Abhiraj, please," he requested tearfully.
"Shut up!" he shouted, "You have no right to request anything, so get lost." He felt nauseous looking at Fateh's sad look, "And don't show that pitiful expression. Jaao. Jaao aur manao apne pyaar ka jashan bas meri behen ka din karab mat karo!."
"I just want to..." he said in a low voice while bowing his head.
Abhiraj was about to punch him, when Tejo held him back, "Tejo..."
"Let me hear it," she replied emotionlessly.
"Tejo..." he looked at her in concern, but she blinked at him in assurance. He knew it was an act, she wasn't as indifferent as she showed herself, yet he yielded to her. He knew she might not be strong now but she will be in the future. And he, Abhiraj Sandhu, has made sure of it.
"Speak Mr. Virk," she faced Fateh.
"I...I," Fateh fumbled over the words, "I am sorry." He noticed her jaw tighten, and continued, "I know I have wronged you, but you still helped my family and me. Thank you. I...I have lost the right, but...But if you ever need my help...I will be there."
Tejo looked at him for a long time before lowering her eyes, "You can help me." Stepping forward, she asked, "By answering this question. Since when?" Fateh avoided her gaze. "Come on Fateh, you wanted to help me so tell me!"
"Tejo please," he whispered, closing his eyes in shame. "Don't, it won't do you or me any good. Please."
"Tell me," she insisted, "or is this apology half-hearted like the rest of our..."
"No," he immediately refuted, "no, it's not."
"Go on then," she pressed.
"The day of...The day of Jasmine's en...engagement," he forced out.
She stumbled back a little, but Abhiraj stabilized her, "Tu thik hai?"
She nodded controlling her unsteady heart, "Ghar chale?" He nodded and drove off.
The more her brain replayed the words, the more her eyes wanted to wring themselves dry. "Tejo!" Satti, her mother, called making her wipe the tears in a hurry.
"Kya hua maa?" she asked.
"Khushbeer Ji," she said hesitantly, "is downstairs, and he is asking for you."
She frowned in confusion before walking downstairs. "Papaji? Aap yaha, is everything okay?" she asked as soon as she reached the living area. Her heart palpitated when his face grimaced.
"Tejo," he said heavily, "I know, you have just gotten out of the...I..."
"What happened?"
"I want you to get married before Fateh and Jasmine, else even their marriage won't happen," he said.
She stepped back, and exclaimed in shock, "Papaji...I can't..."
"You must," he insisted, "else even their marriage won't happen."
"Khushbeer Ji," Satti spoke up, "Tejo has just come out of a relationship, that too after being betrayed, how can..."
"Bhabhi Ji," he said, "I know it's hard, but I can't stay put. My son did the most...We don't need to repeat it. But Tejo is the only one who has suffered from all this. I take her as my daughter, I can't see her getting taunted by the society."
"She is my daughter," Rupy spoke up, coming in between Tejo and Khushbeer. Folding his hands he said, "and I can't bear forcing her to take this step, not after seeing her this fragile. Please."
Khushbeer kept his hands on Rupy's and said, "I know. But will you be able to bear seeing her break every day? Everyone will start taunting her after some time, forgetting that she is the victim. For both her marriages' failures they will blame her. Will you be able to take it? Think about it." He folded his hands and left.
"Waise, he wasn't wrong," Lovely, Tejo's Chachi, said, making everyone look at her with indignation."I mean, we won't but others might blame Tejo. Afterwards, if she wants to marry then it will be difficult..."
Before she could finish, Tejo ran out. "Tejo!" everyone yelled and went behind her. She sat on her Vespa and drove away. "Tejo," Satti yelled, "what if she..."
"Nothing will happen, "Abhiraj said and followed her on his bike.
Open Field
She ran into the open and screamed, "AAAAAAAHH" Falling onto her knees, she glared at the stars in wrath, "WHY? Why are you shimmering? My life is turning pitch black, and you...You have no right to be this bright when my sparkle is getting snatched." Sobbing horribly, she questioned herself, "Why me? Why always me? Why am I always hurt..."
"Because you give them the right!" a voice replied firmly.
Tejo turned around, and whispered, "Raina?"

Author's note:
Hey, lovelies! We have another story on board! I hope you are excited about it.
I am not a huge fan of the show, nor a religious follower, however, I have seen some recent shorts with my mom and got intrigued. Reading Wikipedia and some written updates, my brain couldn't help but start making a story, and here we are.
Hopefully, you will like it.
Love.
