A week later, Raina's house

Tejo was on the couch, completing her assignments when she heard the door open. "You are home so early?" she asked.

"Hmm," Raina nodded, "what are you doing?"

"Submitting an assignment," she replied.

"Caught up with all the work?" she inquired.

"Yeah," Tejo smiled, "it was a lot easier, as it's a research-based degree. And since I was doing research in India as well, I actually just had to convert it into the format required. So all good."

"That's great. It means you will have no problem with this," she replied and handed her a paper. Tejo gave her a confused smile and took the paper.

"Raina," Tejo said sternly, "I told you clearly..."

"Tejo, you told me that you don't want a job in Angad industries, I agreed to it," she responded, "but what's the problem with a job?"

"There is no problem," Tejo agreed, "but I don't want a job via connections."

"Please," Raina sighed, "don't start with the whole, 'Mujhe mere bal par khada rehna hai' and crap."

"It's not..."

"Tell me one thing," Raina asked, "if in the future you get a case which you have never seen, will you or will you not consult with a senior psychologist?" Tejo looked at and nodded. "Why? Is that not equivalent to being incapable?"

"That's taking help..."

"Then this is too!" Raina insisted, "I know in our country, this is looked down upon. But that's not because it's a wrong practice, it's wrong because the undeserving are given the things while the deserving suffer. However, your case is not that. You have a master's degree prevalent in Human resources, and you have experience in managing a business. On top of that all the other several jobs you did, so trust me you deserve a better position than this one."

"Then why are you not letting me job hunt alone?" she shot back, "If I am capable then why not let me try other places?"

"Sure," Raina agreed, causing Tejo to be stunned. Raina sat beside her and said, "Try other places too. I have no qualms. However, when you will choose between them I am sure you will choose this company. Not just because the salary is great, but the ethics, benefits, and opportunity for growth are too."

"How are you sure I will get the job? Did you..."

"No," she shook her head, "I was going to. However, this is the headquarters of Raishinghania industries, and Neel can't do much in this. The interviews are unbiased, the only thing he could help with is giving me the format of the interview."

Tejo took the paper in her hand and contemplated. "Raina you really didn't..." she started to ask just to be sure.

"Trust me Tejo," Raina said, "I didn't. Moreover, that goose is never going to let an incapable person enter his company so even if I tried I wouldn't have succeeded."

"Fine," she agreed after a long time making Raina squeal.

 Moga, Sandhu house

It had been about two weeks since Tejo left, and the Sandhu house had mellowed down quite a bit. Although she called every day, due to the time difference and Tejo's studies they could barely talk. Hence everyone was anxious for her.

The elders were having their lunch when Jasmine and Fateh entered. "Maa," Jasmine smiled and sat beside her, "look this is our wedding's invitation card. How is it?" When Satti looked at beautifully engraved letters shimmer in gold, she felt a knot form in her throat that she wasn't able to force down.
