We Found Love: A Damian Priest Fanfic

Damian reads Tara's fan mail

At 9:15pm on Saturday, October 1st, 2022, Luis "Damian Priest" Martinez just got done winning his match against Braun Strowman at a house show. Some of the superstars and staff were congratulating him on the way to the locker room. Meanwhile, Tara was putting her daughter, Bella, to bed and working on her next story on one of her main writing platforms which is Anystories. A notification from Instagram popped up on her phone and Damian had just added to his story, and she scrolled through her Instagram, until, she saw a post that she liked. She reposted it and the post was about Libras and Geminis. Damian scrolled through his phone and saw the same post that Tara just added to her story. One of the WWE staff members walked towards him.

Male staff: Hey, Damian, you've got some fan mail.

He was carrying a bag marked Damian Priest and Damian took it from him.

Damian: Thanks, hey, do you have my schedule?

Male staff: Yeah, it's right here.

He took a folded piece of paper out of his pocket and handed it to Damian. Damian took it from him and put it in his pocket.

Damian: Thanks, man, see you at the bar.

He left the arena and went to his hotel room in Phoenix, Arizona. He sat down on his bed and looked through the fan mail. He came across Tara Knight's letter and opened the envelope. He took out the letter and this is what it said:

Dear Damian Priest,

I don't know if I should call you Damian Priest, Luis Martinez, or Luis Barrios, but I'm writing to you because I'd rather know about the man behind the Damian Priest persona. Even though, I'll never get to see you in reality, I'll always fantasize about the man behind the Damian Priest persona, the character he has to perform as in front of billions of fans. When I first saw you, it was on NXT, and you were Punishment Martinez, another one of your personas. What captivated me and drew me to you not as a fan, but as an average human being is your smile, your voice, the positivity that glowed from you..., and your tattooes. You don't let your imperfections get in the way of who you are or what you stand for. No matter if you were fat or skinny, it was the aura you give off to people onscreen, but I can't help, but wonder does it also show when you're off screen. Who are you?

Who is this man that I wanna meet so badly, but without the glitz, the glamor, and the celebrity status? I would give just one day to know who you really are without the Damian Priest persona. I'd rather hear about Luis Martinez, instead of, watching your interviews, and hearing it from there. I wanna hear it from the source himself, and no, this isn't some crazed fan who wants 15 minutes of fame, or a one night stand, or a golddigging bitch, or someone who wants to be in a relationship with you. I'm just a stranger interested in getting to know a man who loves doing what he does. I won't tell you my real name, unless, I meet you in real life, and plus, you're the first I've ever written to. I'm pretty sure you're probably in a relationship, right now, and that's another thing.

My second fantasy is about you holding me in your arms and wondering what it would be like to be in a relationship with you. By the time, you get this letter, it'll be past your birthday, and some of the holidays, and this letter will be just a figment of your imagination. The woman who writes this letter will be nothin', but another fan letter you'll get sayin' the same thing, but in different ways. I hope that when this letter reaches you, and you've had the time to read it, you'll not only see this is a fan writing to you, but as an average, normal person who sees you just like any other celebrity, a normal person trying to make a living in this world doing what they love just in front of billions of people. I'm a silent fan, Mr. Martinez/ Priest who says nothing, but likes pictures, likes tweets, support my fav celebs, and sometimes, watches my fav celebs go live on Instagram. We will never cross paths and you will never know who I am or what I look like. I don't expect to get a response from you anytime soon.
