Words intent on hurt
Words thrown like knives into souls
Words that pierce past flesh and bone
Words that explode like bombs
That hit so hard and so strong
Words meant to hold and help
Making me, in pain, cry and yelp
Words are supposed to be treasures
Not to be used at leisure
Words with beauty and rhythm
Tearing apart, creating a schism
Words of truth and life
Cutting me down like a knife
Words upon angry words
Will it ever not hurt
Be careful what you say
Words have power
Build people up
Do not devour
