Finally they came across a group of buildings that they could use for cover, moving in and out quickly and quietly.
Trying to stay out of sight.
They stopped against the wall at the sound of foot steps.
Theo quickly bent down, grabbing a stone before throwing it back and behind her, distracting whoever the footsteps belonged to before they both took off again into the woods.
It had been at least 30 minutes of being in silence when the sound of another pair of footsteps stopped them in the track.
"You know the drill right" Daryl reminded her as she nodded before ducking, Daryl throwing his crossbow at the incoming man who was blinded by it for a second before throwing it to the ground as she moved out the way, Daryl taking the first hit, followed by returning his own.
Theo crawled towards the crossbow, just as a knife was thrown in her direction.
She moved out the way before rolling to her side where another one of those people stepped on her ankle, causing her to yell out in pain.
"No!" Daryl yelled as he was thrown to the floor as Dog bit the leg of his attacker.
Throwing his own knife at the man that stood above his wife.
It hit his shoulder, allowing Theo to scramble to her feet and remove the weapon before placing it back into his skull.
"Go!" Daryl yelled as a third appeared, Theo then legged it as Daryl threw his other knife before sprinting after her, not turning back or stopping up until daylight appeared.
They stood beside one another out of breath after taking out a walker, cutting it open and covering themselves in its insides, making sure that the walkers wouldn't be their concern so they could focus on the people after them.
They fell back into silence once again, walking together, listening carefully, moving fast and stealthy
They knew they were being followed.
So when they heard Dog crying out in the distance they ran without question.
Only stopping when they saw that one of those people had him.
But he wasn't hurt.
"Let him go" Daryl spoke first before taking his knife out.
The person in front of them said nothing, they just removed their mask to reveal a woman.
"Leah?" Daryl looked at the woman, as she just stared at the two of them.
"I never thought I would see you again" She spoke up, her voice was confident, her whole demeanour was some what intimidating, but not to Theo.
It was clear to Theo who she was.
She was the woman.
The one Daryl told her about during their separation.
