Battle Scars (Yang x Male Reader) RWBY Vol. 4

Crippled

Here we are volume 4. Thank you all for your patience and support. This last semester has kicked my but pretty hard. But now that's finally out of the way for now. With that being said let's kick things off.

You woke up as you felt someone shake you awake. You opened your eyes to see Tai.

Tai: Up and at them. 

You got up remembering that you were staying with Yang and her family to be there for her as she recovered from the fall at Beacon. It's been about a week since then now and Qrow along with other huntsmen had been working day after day to reclaim Beacon.

y/n: Alright.

You stood up and began to follow Tai towards the kitchen but you almost immediately stubbed your toe against the coffee table. 

y/n: Oww!

Ruby: Are you alright?

You saw Ruby walking down the stairs to the living room. You groaned in pain before speaking. 

y/n: Yeah. I'm fine.

You then placed your hand on the patch where your right eye was.

y/n: I guess I'm still getting used to the new depth perception. I'll be alright.

You and Ruby both began to walk over to the kitchen to eat breakfast. 

Tai: Is Yang up yet Ruby?

Ruby stopped for a second but nodded.

Ruby: Yeah. She might just be taking a bit.

You sighed as you remembered how Yang lost her arm because of your brother Adam. You looked back at the stairs wondering what Yang would be like now because of it. But your attention was drawn soon drawn back to Tai as he called for you a few times.

Tai: y/n? y/n. y/n!

You turned back to face Tai.

Tai: What do you want for breakfast? We've got some cereal. I can make toast. What are you hungry for?

y/n: Cereal's fine.

Ruby: I'd like some too.

You and Ruby sat at the table together as you waited for Tai to bring you both your breakfast. As you both did you both looked at the stairs wondering when Yang would come down. You both had waited for only seconds but thinking about Yang made it seem like forever. Tai then brought you and Ruby your bowls of cereal as you heard a door upstairs open. You realized it must have been Yang so you both looked back at the stairs to see her coming down but you didn't see her. Instead, you heard her holler from upstairs. 

Yang: Dad. Can you send Ruby up, please? I'm having trouble getting dressed.

You and Ruby looked at Tai who nodded at Ruby.

Tai: Go on.

Ruby then put down her spoon and went back upstairs to help Yang. Tai sighed sadly as he took a sip of some coffee. You sighed sadly too and weren't able to focus on eating anymore. You soon heard Yang's bedroom door open again you looked over and saw Ruby walk downstairs with Yang behind her. Yang was dressed in a yellow-orange t-shirt and brown khakis. You felt awkward under the circumstances but you decided to greet Yang.

y/n: Good morning Yang.

Yang didn't respond and sat at the table next to you as Ruby sat back down also. As she did she glanced at you for a moment but then directed her gaze at the table instead, looking uninterested in talking to you. Tai then broke the silence.

Tai: What would you like Yang?

Yang didn't even look at Tai but responded.

Yang: Toast.
