Battle Scars (Yang x Male Reader) RWBY Vol. 4

A New Team

Opening with Ruby's perspective.

Ruby was sitting on her bed looking at the tavern worried for her uncle. 

Ruby: He hasn't come back yet. It's almost midnight.

Nora seemed a bit worried as well.

Nora: How often does your uncle drink?

Ruby sighed sounding a bit frustrated.

Ruby: A bit too much.

Ruby stood up with a serious look on her face.

Ruby: I'm going to go get him.

Ruby then made her way to the tavern but was stopped by the waitress. 

Waitress: Sweetie, you're too young to be in here. And we're closing down now.

Ruby: I'm here for my uncle. He has black hair and wears a cross.

Waitress: Oh. Well, then your uncle is upstairs. He passed out about an hour ago.

The waitress then brought Ruby to the second floor where she found Qrow sleeping at a table with several empty shot glasses. Ruby sighed sounding disappointed as she walked up to her uncle and shook him to wake him up.

Ruby: Uncle Qrow please wake up.

Qrow grumbled and moved slightly but didn't seem to wake up.

Ruby scoffed in frustration before she picked up her uncle and helped him stand up. Ruby then looked over at the waitress. 

Ruby: Can you help me get him to the inn?

Waitress: Sure.

Ruby and the waitress then began to bring Qrow to the inn so that he could rest. As they brought him however Qrow began to mutter things.

Qrow: That... woman... who does she think she is... showing up... just to... disappear again...

Ruby sighed sounding a bit annoyed.

Ruby: Uncle Qrow. You were fantasizing again.

Waitress: Actually I think he might be talking about the woman who spoke with him earlier.

Ruby looked at the Waitress confused.

Ruby: What woman?

Waitress: Well, she was dressed in all black and had red eyes. She also carried some sort of grimm mask with her but she claimed she wasn't with the White Fang. She said she knew your uncle. 

Ruby was shocked there was only one woman who she thought of that met that description that her uncle would know. But her uncle was still too drunk to properly talk to her. So Ruby and the waitress brought him to his room with Jaune and Ren. Jaune and Ren both woke up as they brought him into the room. 

Jaune: What happened?

Ruby and the Waitress brought Qrow to his bed and laid him down.

Ruby: He was drinking again.

Ren sighed in frustration.

Ren: Great. There goes a good chunk of the money we got from Sarton.

Ruby sighed in disappointment.

Ruby: No kidding.

Ruby sighed again sounding exhausted. 

Ruby: I'm tired.

Ruby nodded at the waitress. 

Ruby: Thanks for the help.

The waitress nodded back.
