Chapter 13 Why do you lie to yourself?

Pluto was howling loudly and spreading his wings "Pluto what are you doing here buddy?" Alondra asked, closing the window she turned around she saw a music box "A music box?" Alondra whipped her tear stained face and saw a letter on Pluto's beak "What's that.." Alondra gently took the music box and the letter from Pluto. Alondra opened the and it said:

Dear Alondra

I'm sorry I could not come to your party. But you need to remember that no one knows I'm your father and it should stay like that for a little longer. If they knew I was your Father it would not change a thing I would be still busy with grading assignments and doing some cleaning in my office. Earlier today I came across this music box. I was going to wait until your birthday when you're old enough to know the full story but I thought I'd give it to you now. You see the music box was your mothers and I thought I should give it to you as an apology gift for missing your party but also if I keep it for myself it will make me miss her more. Besides she is your mother it's only right for you to have something of hers since she didn't leave anything behind for you. But enough of that I 'm sorry I didn't show up to your victory party. I hope all went well and I am very happy for you. I know things have been tough between me and you lately with the current conflict but I really hope you can forgive me and I hope you enjoy the congratulatory pictures I included of you and your mother in the music box. And please stop lying to yourself for me you're mother wouldn't want you to feel more pain than what you already feel

As Alondra closed the letter she placed it on the side table of her bed, she opened her mothers music box and it had old photos of her with her mother and father at what looked like parties or happy celebrations with friends and family. There was one picture that Alondra was not so sure of. In the picture there was Alondra when she was a baby being held buy, her father, and her mother but Alondra wondered why Harper and Harry as babies were with their parents in the photo with hers. Why were the Potters with the Diamond and Snape in one photo with their children as babies together? They all looked so young. Why? Alondra wondered in her mind. She didn't care to bother but still had the question in the back of her mind. As Alondra looked at all the other pictures, some photos had the Potters in them. But Alondra loved to see the photos of her parents. She tried to restore the happy memories she wished she could go back to. Almost about to cry, Alondra held onto the memories but was still too young to remember the events in the picture. She would never be able to ask her father because when she did once he said "Wait until you're older" but that was 4 years ago before her acceptance to Hogwarts but now she's older than what she used to be but she is still anxious about asking her father. What would he say? Would he tell her she's still too young? Questions began to rattle in her brain.

The next day when charms class was about to start, out in the hallway Cedric Diggory was walking towards Draco and saw him scolding the Weasley twins "I still can't believe how bloody stupid you both are! And you two call yourself her friend" Draco yelled at them with spite in his voice "We are her friend!" "Yeah, her best friends!" both Fred and George said with the same tone as Draco but not with spite "Oi Malfoy you better not be talking about my sister again or her best friend who I find like family" Harry said annoyed and hot tempered "No ones talking about them Pottah and it's none of your business even if we are" Draco told Harry trying to sound witty "You know I really can't see what Harper sees in you" Harry said squinting up to Malfoy's face "Oh... She sees something in me?" Draco sounded witty and hopeful "Why should I tell you that ask her yourself besides it's none of your business if I know how she feels about you" Harry remarked "Oh Pottah I see the games your playing and I'll play them to watch your back Pottah" Draco said now squinting back at Harry "Your the one that needs to watch your back Malfoy" Harry said getting a bit more annoyed a Draco by the minute "You and I both Pottah" Draco said giving his last looks at Harry. And both boys walked off watching their backs. As Draco was about to walk off Cedric Diggory walked up to Malfoy and said "Oi Malfoy everything alright is Potter giving you a hard time?" "Oh Diggory you should know by now I'm usually the one giving Pottah the hard time besides what's it to you" Draco said impatiently waiting to walk away trying to avoid any more conversation "Well that's true but just don't cause anymore problems with Pottah or anyone else" Cedric said trying to keep him and Draco at piece "Yeah whatever pretty face if you don't mind I've got better places to be" Draco said wittily and walked off avoiding other students. He just wanted to get to his common room and think about what Harry said about Harper and try to put the pieces together.

Harper and Alondra were walking to the dueling club class room when Harper saw Harry sitting on a bench in the hallway looking upset "Come on Harp were gonna be late" Alondra said rushing Harper " Ok Ok -wait Lon look it's Harry give me a sec he looks upset" Harper said walking towards Harry "Hey Harry are you ok what's wrong? Make this quick because I'm about to be late for dueling club" Harper said sitting next to Harry. "I'm fine Harp, I just need a minute!" Harry said not noticing that he raised his voice to his sister "Harry tell me what happened I can see your upset" "Harper I said I'm fine now leave me alone just go away!!!" Harry said upset "Ok ok I'm sorry, sorry" Harper responded "Sorry Harp I'm just...not in a good mood today" Harry said sighing "What happened Harry.." Harper said with a soft tone "It's none of your business Harp..you should go to class" Harry turned away from his sister "But Har-" "Go to class Harper please" Harry interrupted Harper with a cold tone Harper stared at Harry for a moment then sat back up and walked away she looked around for Alondra notice that Alondra left her "Alondra?...she left me" Harper started to walk fast until Alondra came to view "Alondra! Slow down, wait for me!" Harper yelled for Alondra to slow down but Alondra kept walking "Lon! Hey!" Harper was now caught up with Alondra and held her shoulder "Don't touch me please" Alondra said to Harper without looking at her Harper let go of Alondra's shoulder "Alondra are you ok?" Harper asked with a concern look "Were gonna be late" Alondra said walking very fast leaving Harper confused and worried

Everyone was talking loudly speaking over one another waiting for the class to start until the door opened and two professors walked in "Hello students and welcome" Dumbledore said with a calm tone almost everyone became quite while some students whispers "I hope your ready for class will being now" Dumbledore said while walking up to the stands and staying there "Now who would like to go first?" Dumbledore called out many students raised their hands and cheered for they want to be first to duel "Quite now I will pick who goes first" Snape said with a cold voice everyone became so quiet while looking at Snape he walked around slowly almost like he was looking for someone he spotted Harper with Alondra pointed his wand towards them and said "You two will duel" Harper and Alondra looked at each other for a moment "Pick someone else please I rather not duel today" Alondra said while looking at Snape "Alondra.." Harper whispered to her "You will duel or else points will be taken away" Snape said sounding threatening "Professor Snape if she doesn't want to duel don't force her" Dumbledore said making sure nothing bad happens "Fine then I guess that means your weak to try" Snape said Alondra stand up quickly and started to walk to the stands while Snape grinned Harper followed Alondra to the stands before they could get on Harper stopped Alondra "Alondra are you ok we don't have to do this" Harper said to her "I'm fit as a fiddle Potter" Alondra said going up on the stands "Your not fine.." Harper whispers so no one can hear they got up to the stands with Dumbledore in between them "You don't have to do this" Dumbledore said looking at Alondra but she ignored him and pulled out her wand "Lon please" Harper tried again but nothing "I'm fine I am fine I feel fine let's just duel" Alondra said quietly Harper pulled out her wand got ready to duel "Why do you lie to yourself"
