His anne was waiting for him, he held up his hand.

"Before you start in on me too I was out of line anne, I know it, I am very sorry for my behavior. I need to apologize to Eda too. She didn't deserve my bad temper and I took it out on both of you."

Aydan looked at him, she had a sheen of tears on her eyes, "Eda didn't come back to the office. I think that you did in five minutes what you hadn't managed to do in the two months that you were gone. You broke her spirit Serkan and I don't think that I can forgive you for it. You're my son and I love you, but she is like a daughter to me. I didn't give birth to her but she has given me so much. She has so much strength in that little body and I watched you in your arrogance crush her. I told you not to bring Selin here, but you did it anyways, you didn't listen to me. No Serkan, I don't think that I can forgive you."

"Anne, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt her, I didn't mean to hurt you. I was angry and I lashed out. I just don't know what I'm doing anymore."

"Then you'd better figure it out Serkan, I raised you better than this," Aydan turned to walk out of the conference room but Serkan caught her elbow and stopped her.

"Anne, please, can we talk a bit? If I'm ever going to make things right I have to talk to you."

Aydan turned around and looked at Serkan, "What do you want to talk about?"

"To start I was hoping that you could tell me what happened with baba and you. You said that you've divorced but where is he?"

Aydan knew that this was going to be a long conversation, "You may as well come home with me. You can sleep in your old apartment tonight."

"I still need to apologize to Eda," he said hoping that he would get another chance to see her and to try to set things on a better path with her.

"That isn't going to happen today, she won't be back to the office. Do you have a bag with you? You may as well bring it."

Serkan followed his mother outside stopping at the car that he had taken from the airport and retrieved the bag that he had bought the other day. He dismissed the driver. "Anne, where's my car?"

"Edacim usually drives it. It's probably here since Ferit dropped her off at home. Why? Are you planning on taking that too?" Aydan asked a little bitterly.

"No, I was just curious that's all. If I can borrow one of your cars or have Seyfi drop me off tomorrow that would be fine."

The drive out to the farm was relatively quiet, both of the Bolat's were absorbed in their own thoughts. Aydan was trying to control both her temper and her upset. She hated what Serkan had done to Eda. She was so disappointed with how ugly he acted towards her Eda didn't deserve his disrespect. She was also grateful to finally have him home, a weight had been lifted from her heart. But then she drifted back to anger when she thought about him bringing Selin with him. He just didn't listen to her. After all those years of putting up with Aptekin not listening she would be damned if she would accept it from Serkan.

Serkan was thinking through his conversation with Engin and Pyril, he knew that they were both still rather angry with him. They had smoothed over some of the rough edges but there was still tension. He never suspected that loyalties would shift. He and Engin had known each other since they were children. When they met Pyril at University they formed a fast friendship, they spent hours together planning their future business. He would consider them his closest friends but it would seem that he had slipped in the ranking.

He thought about the relationship between Pyril and Selin. They became friends at University and were friends at ArtLife always gossiping about something or someone. Now that he thought about it they never did anything outside of work, did they? At University it was always school related activities then it shifted to work. Were their lives that narrow? Did they ever do anything for fun? Serkan knew that he and Engin would go skiing regularly. Selin always wanted to come with but he never felt comfortable inviting her. He didn't think that she went with friends, but then he rarely gave a thought as to what she did.
