Pt9(Tw: Car Crash, Blood, Angst)

On a cold winters night in December Sooyoung had stepped out on the balcony to get some fresh night air and a little bit of alone time considering she couldn't sleep but Taemin was awakened by their phones ringing on the nightstand. Taemin wondered where Sooyoung had gone considering that she was always next to him or in Hee's room so he answered their ringing phones at the same time. Sooyoung's call was telling her she was needed as extra staff for the night shift and Taemin's call was Jonghyun. Taemin rose up quickly hanging up Sooyoung's phone then he was caught of guard to the distraught tone in Jonghyun's voice. Anxiety filled the room quickly as he got up searching to find Sooyoung so she wasn't late for work. "Jonghyun what's going on?! It's 23:50 pm it's almost midnight what happened?" Jonghyun broke down crying being in complete mess seeing how he just got a call from the hospital saying Jinki had been in a serious car crash.

Sooyoung turned around at that very moment seeing Taemin motioning for her to come inside quickly. "Jong I'll be there with Sooyoung stay strong ok? We love you both." Sooyoung looked at Taemin wondering what's going on so he quickly filled her in as he rushed to get dressed. "Sooyoung one of the head nurses called you to say you're needed at the ER today and Jonghyun called me to say he was in a serious car crash so get your shit together now!" Sooyoung rushed to get ready and as she got ready Taemin ran to Hee's room grabbing her with all the things he'd need for her then he got the car ready so all Sooyoung had to do was get in. While he got Hee situated in the car Sooyoung made her way out getting in groaning not wanting to report for work but it had to be done.

On the drive to the hospital Sooyoung laid her head against the window sighing out of frustration. "Sorry honey I have to cancel our plans we had for today. Most likely I'll end up in triage and I'll run into Jinki but I hope you can keep Hee and Jonghyun up at the same time?" Taemin found a parking spot that was very convenient for the both of them as Sooyoung leaned over kissing Taemin bye as she got out the car not waiting on Taemin to follow with little Hee. Running in to the place where she clocked in clocking in knowing she would be sent to Triage soon as she said and thought that her patient was Jinki. Taemin asked the front desk where Jinki was considering He was the patient and Jonghyun would be there too. The nurse at the ER told him to wait but Sooyoung told the nurse he was with her so she pulled him back there to the waiting room in triage area knowing Jonghyun would be there. "Ok babe stay here with Hee and try to keep them calm I love you I got to go!" Sooyoung pulled her stethoscope over her neck sprinting down exactly to where Jinki was at. Sooyoung gasped seeing Jinki all cut up, bloody and banged up taking her a second to get her bearings together before she starting cutting the clothes off him exposing his bare body to the whole team as she held back tears knowing that Jinki was her brother in law all banged up. The chief nurse wanted Sooyoung to leave knowing the circumstances here in this case but she was headstrong as Sooyoung decided she could make it. Tiffany the chief nurse told Sooyoung to get her the saline solution, to start the oxygen and call radiology to see if they could squeeze a critical condition patient. While Sooyoung did what she was instructed Taemin took care of Jonghyun and Hee the best he could.

Hee wasn't crying but she was rather more empathetic towards her Uncle knowing something wasn't right. Hee wiggled her way out of her fathers arm whining softly reaching for Jonghyun. Jonghyun noticed Hee's attention holding Hee as he broke down into more tears which made Hee cry to as well so Taemin took her from Jonghyun to calm her down. Hee stopped crying  holding onto her dad knowing things weren't right. Taemin softly kissed her forehead keeping her close bouncing her keeping her calm as possible. "Baby girl I love you." Hee smiled widely going into a happy giggling fit when Taemin told his daughter those words. Jonghyun motioned to Taemin he was going to step out so Hee wouldn't be affected by him being emotional. Hee now being able to talk in sentences communicating with her father. Taemin noticed that and did his best to assure Hee it wasn't the reason her uncle Jonghyun was upset.

While the ER continued to be land blasted from the sudden in come  of patients the hospital. To best of their luck out of all odds today was the day they were so short staffed so the day crew was on a double shift to help assist. Sooyoung ensured Jinki was in the best hands once he was out of the ER. Sooyoung called down to CT immediately taking over from her head nurse Tiffany considering assistance was needed in a code blue two rooms down. Being Sooyoung was always a natural born leader Sooyoung did her best to ensure every patient she dealt with had the best qualities of care. "Hey Shelly this is Sooyoung from the ER I have a patient here in triage needing a CT. How many patients do you have currently? I have a patient here that came in from a car accident so I need you to run a code 70450 on patient in triage 9. Patient's name and DOB is Lee Jinki date of birth 89/04/12. Yes I'm asking for a Head and body scan please. Mm, ok we will get him down there right now. Thanks Shelly!" Sooyoung kissed Jinki's hand softly giving the other nurses on shift with her the heads up to send him up while she went to inform the boys. Sooyoung sighed softly leaning against the wall knowing this was one of the hardest case she could deal with. She knew she had to break the news in the best way possible.

Taemin was pacing the floor while Jonghyun held Hee as she was sleeping peacefully Jonghyun was wide awake worried about his husband. Sooyoung came out of the triage area to find the crew all waiting for Some kind of update. Taemin looked up seeing Sooyoung walking in which Jonghyun got up holding Hee in his arms while both males approached her. "Well we have him in CT right now. We're checking him for any upper and lower extremity injuries. These range from Brain hemorrhaging, broken bones, dislocated limbs, impaled organs or simply fluid in the lung cavity. We won't know until the radiology team gets back to us. We just had a code blue two rooms down from us so my head nurse went to take care of that. I'll make sure to call you both. Baby why don't you take Jonghyun and Hee home with you? All of you need sleep I will tell you when visiting hours are open but until then I got to get back to work. Bye!" Sooyoung felt her call phone buzz as she was paged down to paediatrics where she was normally stationed at but nurses go where ever the hospital sees needs for them.

Taemin looked over at Jonghyun who had cried his eyes out already needing a reprieve from the hectic day. Hee clung onto Jonghyun's chest while Taemin leaned down kissing Hee on top of her head taking Jonghyun by his free arm leading him out to the car. "I'm taking you home with me to ensure you're well rested and Hee also is sleeping so it's best if she's in her own bed. Also Jonghyun I'll get breakfast for us later on. I know it's hard to eat or even sleep when your loved one is hospitalized but you got to push forward to do your best. I'm aware it's one of the stressful things in our lives but Sooyoung and her team have got it under control so let's get some sleep so when it comes time to visiting Jinki we won't be falling asleep on him." Jonghyun nodded holding back tears for the sake of Little Hee who was sleeping Peacefully in his arms as he joined his free arm up with Taemin's heading to the car. Taemin took Hee laying her down in her car seat buckling her up for safety then opening the door for Jonghyun ensuring they both were in the car safely closing the doors lightly proceeding to get in drivers side doing the same while driving home. When Taemin got home he looked over seeing Jonghyun knocked out cold into a deep sleep so it took Taemin assistance to ensure both of his passengers got in the house safely. Once that task was done he covered them with blankets to go back to lock up the house and the car with him being the last one to take a nap.
