*Adrian's POV*
We made it to Marmoreal and walked into the White Queen's throne room to see her sitting on her throne and an empty one to her left. I smile and stare at her. She's so beautiful. All the White Queen's court gasps and stares at us when we walk up to her throne. She stands up and smiles, "Welcome to Marmoreal." Alice smiles and hands over the sword, "I believe this belongs to you." The White Queen takes the Vorpal sword and places it with the armor that Alice is expected to wear, "The Vorpal sword is home again. The armor is complete. Now, all we need is a champion."
She then turns to me and smiles sweetly, "Hello Adrian." I smile with adoration in my eyes, "Hello my queen. You're even more graceful and beautiful than I imagined." The White Queen blushes and smiles. Alice frowns at the thought of slaying the Jabberwocky. The White Queen leans to Alice and whispers, "You're taller than I thought you'd be." Alice looks at her, "Blame it on too much upelkuchen." The queen looks understanding and links her arm with mine, leading both of us to where I can only assume, Alice's height will be fixed. I smile at the queen and kiss her temple while placing my hand on top of hers. I don't know why I feel so comfortable around her. It's strange.
The White Queen leads us to a set of doors, opens them, and ducks pulling me with her to avoid a bowl of green liquid. I look panicked and the White Queen smiles, cupping my cheek in a calming manner. "Is the March Hare here?" Alice asks while ducking through the doorway and wiping some green stuff on her finger. "You're late for your soup, you wee besom," The March Hare exclaims, "You're late for your soup." Alice eats the soup that was on the door, "Could use some salt." The March Hare launches a salt shaker at Alice's head, causing her to duck. I snort at the encounter between the two.
The White Queen sighs while looking around the table of random ingredients. Alice sits on one stool while I sit on another watching her work. "Pishsalver. Let me think," The White Queen wiggles her fingers around, "A pinch of worm fat." She picks up a vile, and shakes the contents into a triangular mixing bowl, "Urine of the horsefly." I scrunch up my nose at the ingredients. I look at the White Queen and smile, she looks calm and collected more than the Red Queen.
"Ahh. Buttered fingers," The Queen sniffs the fingers deeply and groans in satisfaction. I raise my eyebrows. "I am never holding your hand. I'm afraid of when decide to get tired of me and use my fingers as a dessert, my dear White Queen," I grin and place my chin on the palm of my hand. The White Queen giggles and boops my nose with her finger, "Call me Mirana sweetheart and I would never tire of you. Speaking for your fingers, I would use your fingers as something else and not a dessert." I go wide-eyed and blush as I hear Alice gag at the thought, "Please do not discuss this while I'm here," Alice said shuddering. I swat her arm and roll my eyes.
"My sister preferred to study Dominion Over Living Things," Mirana starts as she adds ingredients, "Tell me, how does she seem to you?" "Perfectly horrid," Alice states plainly. I deadpan and shudder, "A little too forceful and obsessive." Mirana sets down a spoon and looks uncomfortable, "And her head?" Alice leans on her arms, "Bulbous." I sigh, "It doesn't help that Stayne practically inflates it. I tried to run out the door and since Stayne loved her, I thought it would be easy. He loves her but is willing to step aside and grant her wish of having me. Threatened to kill me, even though I told him that I would gladly get out of his hair." Mirana frowns and grabs my hand, "Did she kiss you?" Alice looked interested in this question. I tried to look everywhere but her, "She did once, then was distracted with trying to off someone's head." Mirana looks angry but calms down, "I'll fix that later." Alice grins and nudges me in the side.
"Anyways, I think that she may have some kind of growth in there, something pressing on her brain," Mirana states and continues the potion, "Three coins from a dead man's pocket, two teaspoons of wishful thinking." Alice looks around the kitchen, "You can't imagine the things that go on in that place." "Oh yes, I can," Mirana looks at Alice seriously, "But when a champion steps forth to slay the Jabberwocky, the people will rise against her." She spits into the mixture and I laugh at the drink that Alice will have to drink to become her normal size, "Awe man Alice, you get to swat spit with my queen before I will!" Alice starts smacking my arm repetitively and Mirana smiles while watching the exchange. "That should do it," Mirana says and smiles, then pours some of the mixture into a spoon and holds it out to Alice, "Blow." Alice leans forward and blows on the spoon and takes a sip.
Alice then stands up and starts to shrink, holding her dress as it starts to drop. "Feel better?" Mirana asks Alice as she holds a hand out to her. Alice takes her hand, "Much, thank you." "There is someone here who would like to speak with you," Mirana says while taking Alice to the person wanting to talk. I stayed back not knowing if I was needed. Mirana came back and glided up to me, I smiled as she held my hands. "Hello, at last, my sweet prince," Mirana smiles. I kiss the back of her left hand and pull her into my arms. She gasps and rests her hands on my chest, "Adrian!" I grin and cup her cheek, "You have no idea how many years I've waited to see you. Alice always said all this was a dream, but I have a feeling that it's a memory." Mirana smiles at me widely and kisses me. I close my eyes and kiss back, happy that I am finally with the one it was foretold.
But I had a feeling that it was far from over.
