I woke up with the sound of clanging kitchen wares. Shit! I am still lying on the couch at the Spencer's.

I looked down on the floor where I thought Brian is but instead I found Darcy playing.

"Good morning Darcy. Are your parents home?" I leaned and whispered to her.

"Nope," she replied before continuing to her doll house play.

I nodded then stood up and headed for the kitchen, where I found Brian busy of cooking something.

"Hi," I said thinking if I sound flirty.

"Oh, hi. Sit here. This will be done in a minute." He replied motioning me to their high table where he prepares breakfast.

"I didn't know you can cook." I didn't know why I said that, but I said it.

"Yeah, I can't believe it too. But, yes I cook sometimes. Mom taught me since I was 5." Brian said.

"Well that's great. My mom tried to teach me too but I don't know I just can't cook at all." I said while watching him make pancakes like a pro.

"I believe you can do it," he replied and is now making coffee for us and milk for Darcy.

"I hope so." I muttered.

"By the way, I'm sorry I had to answer your mom's call on your phone earlier. You looked so asleep so I didn't wake you up." He said before placing a plate of pancake with honey and butter in front of me.

"It's okay. What did she say?"

"She said they'll be going home before lunch. And that they planned to fetch us and have lunch at the mall," he explained.

"Sounds good. Anyway, I realized you don't need to make me breakfast. I could go home now, it's morning and safe." I said thinking that I am overstaying.

"That is if you don't want to taste this yummy fluffy pancakes I made," he jokingly spoke.

I smiled back before sipping on a hot coffee he made. Now I am thinking, he's kinda cute and sweet. Honestly, he is very attractive. And it is good to know that he can cook.

Wait! What?

"Darcy, come on eat," he shouted.

--

"Uhm Brian, thanks for letting me stay the night and for the breakfast." I said while helping him clean the dishes.

He looked at me and said, "No problem, Gabrielle."

"So, I will go home now and prepare for later." I awkwardly replied with a weird feeling inside me that says 'Am I too excited for later because we will gonna meet again?'

"I'll take you home." Brian offered.

"I guess that's not a good idea. You don't want to leave your sister alone, right? Don't worry." I said while grabbing my folded clothes.

"Okay. I'll call you in 10 minutes to be sure you got home safe." He reassured.

"Thanks. I'll return these when cleaned." I said and touched his shirt that I am still wearing.

"Sure." He replied as I walked to the bathroom.

I went out of the bathroom wearing my clothes and headed to the living room where I said goodbyes to Brian and Darcy.

Before I went out of their house, Brian said something that surprised me, "Gabrielle, wait. Uhm are we now friends?"

"Uhm..I'll think about it and tell you later. Bye!" I swearingly said before finally leaving.

He laughed, for the first time I saw his genuine smile, and shouted, "Stay safe!"

--

After I got home in about 20 minutes, which is too late because I walked too slow, our telephone had a voice mail from Brian.

Hi, this is Brian. Aren't you not home yet? It has been 15 minutes since you left. Please call me when you got this. Uhm..I am starting to worry.

My heart suddenly started to beat faster than it should. I grabbed the phone and dialed their home number.

I deeply breathed before saying, "Hello?"

"Gabrielle?"

"Yeah. I'm home."

"Thank God."

"Uhm, yeah. So, is that all? I will have to go now. Mom texted me they'll be coming in less than an hour."

"Ah yes, yes. I guess, that's all I want to know, for now. See you later."

--

"Let's go baby, they're waiting outside." Mom shouted outside my room.

I went out thinking why are they waiting outside and asked, "Are we not gonna bring our car?"

"No more. Arthur offered to use their Range Rover," mom explained.

"Oh, okay."

After a minute I finally went out of the house where I found my parents already inside the car and only Brian welcomed me.

"Come on in," he opened the door and let me in then sat beside me on two isolated seats at the back.

"I think this would be the day," he whispered.

"What do you mean?" I whispered back and for some reason careful of not being noticed by mom, who is seating in front of us along with Brian's mom and Darcy.

"Remember when you said you want to know my side and I said let's have a day for that." Brian explained.

"Yes. But how could we talk about that when we are with our parents."

I stared at him and he stared back before he said, "Later. Just ride along."

I nodded back then I noticed my phone was vibrating.

Courtney's calling. Oh crap. Wrong timing.

I caught Brian looking at my phone so I looked at him but he just gulped and looked outside the window.

"Yes, Courtney."

"Hey Gabby, Monique, Lindsey and Riley are hanging out. I called Aimee but she said she can't come. How about you?"

"I am sorry Courtney I really want to come but I am out, too..with my family."

"It's okay Gabby. There is always a next time. Enjoy!"

"Thank you. Hope you guys enjoy too."

Call ended.

"Why didn't you tell her?" Brian asked.

"You know how much she hates you. What do you think she'll do if she knows I am friends with you?" I explained.

He laughed and asked, "So, we are friends?"

I smiled back and said, "I think so?"

He stared at me and I asked, "What?"

Brian leaned and whispered to my ear, "Nothing. It is just that you look more gorgeous when you smile."

What did he just say? What is he doing? He seemed to be making me...fall or what??
