"Gab are you okay? You look pale and exhausted." Aimee asked looking really worried.

"I'm fine, don't worry." I reassured.

She stared at me of disbelief and asked, "I think you're not. You barely touched your food. Anything happened?"

I thought of what happened yesterday but I decided not to tell anyone yet, even my bestfriend, "Nothing, I just don't have an appetite today but I swear I'm good."

"Okay then, so are we gonna have some group study later at your house?" She asked thinking that we should do our math homework together.

"Sure."

"I'll invite the girls too," she added.

I nodded.

She continued eating before she noticed someone, "Look who's here,"

I turned to my back and saw Brian standing behind me.

I sighed.

He leaned and whispered to me, "Can I excuse you for a bit?"

Aimee stared madly at him and said, "Don't you see we're eating?"

"It's fine Aimee, I'll be right back." I calmed her.

We walked towards his table where he was seating alone earlier.

"Why do have to do this often here at school? You know how high the chances are for Courtney to catch us." I asked.

"Why? Are we even hiding?" He sarcastically asked.

I sighed and said, "If you are not, then I am hiding."

"Anyway, what do you want?" I added.

"I just want to ask you if you have some time after school?" He asked in low voice.

"Sorry but I think I don't have free time later because we're gonna have some group study at our house." I explained.

He nodded and said, "I understand, maybe next time, I guess. Another thing is that it is hard to tell you something by always excusing you to talk."

"What are you trying to say?" I asked unclear of what is he implying.

He handed me his phone and asked, "Can I...have your number? So that I don't need to always talk to you personally here at school as what you want. If that's fine with you."

"I think that would be better," I said and typed my number in his phone.

"Is that all?" I asked.

"Yes, thanks for your time." He replied.

I stood up and said, "Okay."

I went back to Aimee at the same time I saw Monique and Lindsey entering the canteen.

I breathed deeply and whispered, "Oh God that was close,"

"Hi girls, where's Courtney?" Aimee asked Lindsey and Monique.

Lindsey gazed at me and said, "She's sick. Super sick."

"Why? What happened?" I asked casually even though I feel that there is something wrong going on.

"She saw something horrible yesterday that made her really sick." Monique reasoned.

Aimee frowned and suggested, "Let's visit her."

"No no no. When she's sick she doesn't want anyone to visit her, especially those who are fake." Lindsey disagreed on Aimee.

I suddenly swallowed a huge bump in my throat as I realized that I could be considered as one hell of a fake.
