"Tell me what happened," said Aimee who is very eager to know what happened last night in our dinner with the Spencer's.

"I was right." I replied.

"Seriously? That Brian is Brian?"

"Yup..he really is,"

"Oh God. What happened? Did he talked to you?" she asked.

"Nope. We just ate. Our parents were the ones who were talking." I explained.

"Jeez. That's awkward." Aimee giggled.

"Hey girls!" Monique suddenly popped beside Aimee who is now talking with her intense eyes to me saying Did she hear what we just said?

"Hey..so..where's Courtney?" Aimee asked.

"She's busy having some moment with her new dirtbag." Lindsey explained.

"Ohhh. Are they getting serious?" I asked.

"He is. But, Courtney? She said what she wants for now is someone to play with." Monique spoke.

"Yeah. And she's thinking maybe she could get back Brian by making him jealous." Lindsey added.

"I thought she doesn't want him anymore?" I confusedly asked.

"She said that but I know and I am very sure, she still loves him." Monique concluded.

Really? Then why didn't she gave him a chance to prove her wrong? Why does she keep saying bad things about him? Is she insane? I am really confused with her right now.

"What? How come she still - Aww!" Aimee started saying the same things I am telling to myself but I stepped on her right foot to make her stop for I think it is better to make Monique and Lindsey think that we are not against Courtney's plans.

"Why did ants always choose to bite me." Aimee said pretending to be scratching her foot as she got why I mean for doing that. "There she is."

"Hi ladies. Riley decided to treat us lunch today. How was that?" Courtney excitedly announced while Riley stood still beside her.

"That's..good, I guess." I said unsure if I'm going to be happy or what.

"That is what I exactly need right now. Food." Lindsey craved as she saw Riley carrying two trays of food.

Silence reigned as we all eat furiously as if we haven't eaten for a week. When suddenly, someone, the person whom Courtney wants to see the least, slowly approaches as he walk towards our table.

"Ohh, I can smell war." Lindsey whispered while chewing her burger.

We were all like statues as our eyes were glued to Brian.

"How dare y -" Courtney was about to confront him but she was halted when he turned, not to her, but to me!

"Do you have a minute?" Brian softly asked me.

Courtney, Monique and Lindsey were all throwing burning stares to me while Riley still doesn't have any single idea what is actually happening. This is not good.

I looked at Aimee, who gave me an eyebrow yes, before I stood and followed Brian as he walked behind a food stall.

"Mom said I should give this to you on her behalf if I happen to see you around," he said before handing me a small rectangular box.

"Tell her I said thanks, from the bottom of heart." I awkwardly replied searching for slightly formal words to say.

"Sure..you know, she really liked you even she had seen you once. Honestly, she said..you're like..an angel," he replied very casually as if we were friends since birth.

"Oh, really..uhm..thanks."

"And uhm, I apologize for breaking in while you're having fun with your friends," he added.

"That's fine, I guess. Uhm, I think I have to go now, if that's fine with you." I replied.

"Yes, of course, 'til next time," he said before leaving through the other side not going past to our table again.

I slowly walked back to our table thinking what must I explain to them. Should I tell the truth, which might be a reason for Courtney to stay away from me. Or should I tell a little white lie to somehow prevent it from happening.

"Please expl -" Monique said as I sat beside Aimee.

"Stop. We'll have time later to talk about this." Courtney cut in and stared at me with her obviously mad eyes.

"Why? What's happening?" Riley confusedly asked as he felt the tension growing between us.

"This is nothing, babe. Just girly things." Courtney replied still staring at me. "I think we need to go now. See you later," she added.

While walking through the corridor after our last class..

"What should I tell her?" I asked Aimee after revealing the true story to her.

"Wait. Let me think." Aimee replied her favorite phrase when it comes to solving real life problems.

"We have no time for this. I need an alibi, I guess." I said.

"So that means you're going to lie? If you lie and she'll found out, friends over."

"And if I tell the truth?" I asked.

"I don't know, she's just gonna know that you're in a family friendship." Aimee answered.

"And?" I asked again.

"And I'm not sure if she's going to love you because you might be the bridge for them to be back together or gonna hate you for you being related to someone whom she hates." Aimee explained flawlessly.

"Does this mean that my story depends on Courtney's feeling for Brian? Then how would I know if she wants him back or she wants him out of her life?" I asked.

"She's complicated." Aimee said as she, herself, doesn't know what to do either.

"Who's complicated?" Courtney popped behind us.

"Uhm..my sister! Yeah. My sister's a shit." Aimee lied.

"So, Gabby. Would you mind explaining?" Courtney said, who is all alone now without Lindsey, Monique and Riley by her side.

"Uhm yeah. No problem." I nervously replied.

"So, it started when my -" I was about to tell her the whole true story when Aimee interrupted.

"When her wallet was misplaced." Aimee lied.

"Uhm yeah. I stupidly lost my wallet. And, it happened that he found it and he saw my photo inside then he saw me in the canteen on his way to the lost and found office. Yes, that's what really happened." I explained fast enough that I wasn't able to take all the information I just said and that I realized I was a great storymaker.

"I'm sorry for thinking that you're flirting with him. I am really sorry, Gabby." Courtney hugged me tight as she took in my explanation.

"It's okay, I understand. So, would you mind if I ask something about Brian?" I said.

"What is it?" Courtney asked.

"Do you still love him? Do you want him back?" I asked.

"Honestly, when I saw him approaching earlier, I realized that I want him back. I still really love him. But when everything he did to me flashes back, all I wanted is revenge." Courtney answered full of feelings.

"Oh, that's a little bit confusing." Aimee said.

"Yeah. Even me, I am really confused. But I know right time will come and I will have answers for my questions. And don't worry, I'll let you guys know." Courtney finally said.
