Before Theodore stepped out of the carriage, he took a look at his pocket mirror first which he found in his shoulder bag. This sight of him clearly wasn't anticipated by the coachman as he opened the carriage door. Although the priest with him is not exactly his Master, and he's just a driver who was rented by the church to help Theo move in the chapel in their town, the coachman still offered his hand to support the said priest as he steps down the carriage.
