I was waiting for Leah to return back from patrol, she had agreed to come to port Angeles with me as everyone turned around a said I shouldn't be going on my own. Something to do with not accidentally shifting in the middle of the streets or whatever. All very dramatic if you ask me.
I wanted to get a few new books and maybe do something drastic to my hair, but who knows.

"Hey! You ready to go?" Leah said poking her hair round the door.
I nodded, "pass me my shoes will ya" with that she launched them, literally, at me.
"Alright I said pass not launch!" I shouted shielding my face from my chunky boots she has chosen to throw at me. A softer shoe would have sufficed.

To say shopping was a success was an understatement. Not only did I manage to choose half a dozen new books, which will probably last me about a week, I did what I said I was going to do and changed my hair.

"Are you going to the bonfire down the beach tonight? I hear a certain wolf will be there" she said suggestively, with a not so subtle wink.
I may or may not have mentioned to her that I found a certain hothead attractive and since then she's been subtly hinting that I should make a move. No idea how no one else had caught up on this secret seeing as we can all read one another's minds. Maybe I'm just better at concealing my thoughts than the others as I can hear everything they're thinking, unfortunately.

I rolled my eyes "of course I'm going to be there and not because of him, although it is an added bonus that he will be there but not a surprise, he is apart of the pack after all" the smile not leaving my face. It wasn't anything serious.

The evening quickly came around and Leah, Seth and I walked towards the beach together. It was cold and even though my body temperature kept me warm for the most past, didn't mean I didn't feel the cold weather. I wore jeans and a t-shirt and layered an oversized hoodie with a jacket to keep me extra warm, I paired the outfit with my chunky platform doc martens.
We gathered around the fire, but not before getting food. Emily's food was always the best. I took the last remaining seat in between Embry and Paul, smiling as a way of greeting the pair.

Embry turned around to greet me properly "your hair is really short?" He observed smiling and i just nodded. "I like it, looks cool" maybe cutting my hair off wasn't such a bad idea after all.

The elders were telling old stories ones I have heard a million times so I wasnt really paying much attention and neither was Paul by the looks of it as he had started to become annoying, trying to get my attention, trying to make me laugh, i was doin my best to hold a poker face but it was proving to be quite difficult.

"Pssst" I heard in my right ear. "What" I whisper shouted back. I wasn't really getting annoyed I was merely pretending. He didn't say anything other than smirk and look the other direction.
By now everyone was just chatting amongst themselves/ as a group so I took this opportunity to head a get some more food, well what was left of it, which really wasn't much after the guys had ransacked it.

""Hi" I felt someone speak in my ear. I turned around to a smiling Paul. "Hello" I said smiling back. "What can I do for you?" I questioned. "Oh nothing, just felt liking coming over and saying hi" he said back. "Actually well I did want something. I want to get to know you better. You moved here a little over a month ago and I feel like I'm the one you have spoken to the least" he said without taking a breath.
"What do you wanna know?" I asked walking back to my seat. "Everything."
"Okay erm my name is Tierney Scott-  "no middle name?" He interrupted. "Oh yeh, it's Merlin" it was an unusual middle name for sure and by the look on Paul's face he'd never heard someone with that name. "My mom was a big fantasy fan" I cleared up.

"Tierney Merlin Scott... beautiful" he recited my name out loud. I blushed for the first time in a long time.
"Okay, favourite colour?"
"Easy, green reminds me of nature"
"Birthday?" "25th September"

The questions went on for a while, we were asking back and forth, getting to know one another better. It was nice, there was no awkwardness at all. The conversation flowed soo well we lost track of the time.

"Thank you for tonight I had fun getting to know you better" I said turning to face him as we came to a stop outside the place I now call home.
"Maybe we could do it again, maybe one to one without anyone listening in?" He suggested
"I'd like that very much" with a small kiss to the cheek, which was a bold move on my behalf, I bid him a goodnight and went inside, only to be greeted by a smirking Leah.
She didn't need to say anything, I shook my head indicating for her not to say anything and without another word I headed to bed.

A/n starting the next chapter will be a film time period jump but my story will continue as if it was a few weeks later, still following the twilight story line though.
