Sunday December thirty-first two thousand and six. The snow has stuck on the ground, there's a major chill in the air. Renesmee Cullen was everyone's sole reason for being here. We all vowed to protect the sweet and innocent young girl as if our lives depended upon it. She had done nothing wrong but was more or less being punished because no one had come across someone of her hybrid kind before. They didn't know anything about her kind and immediately posed her as a threat.

Anyone who knew Renesmee knew she wouldn't hurt a fly. It just simply wasn't in her nature. I know that's easy for me to say because she's practically family but anyone can see how pure and gentle she is. She had the purest heart, eager to learn new things, she radiated so much goodness and positivity, anyone who met her for the first time would instantly fall in love with her.

She was a charmer, she knew how to get her own way, she had her daddy wrapped around that tiny pinky finger of hers. You didn't have to know her at all, but the urge to protect her was undeniable.

The pack was gathered together. It was a short while before we were due to arrive at the field. There were nerves coming from every direction. You could tell mainly the newer, younger wolves were the most nervous out of everyone. They'd never been in a real battle before, of course it was nerve wracking. Heck I was terrified. Going into the unknown was tough to think about but protecting people, even if they're half vampire, is what we do.

As the minutes went by we soon found ourselves stalking towards the field, where it seems the Cullen's have more friends than a lot of us realised. Everywhere I looked there was a vampire with different colour hair, clothes and even eyes. Some crimson, the colour of blood, ironically and some golden like the twilight sun, setting in the evening.

Paul walked along side me, he could sense my worry and instantly manoeuvred himself next to me for added protection. The small gesture meant a lot to me.
No one said a thing as they just stared in our direction as we arrived.

The air was tense, waiting on the arrival of the Volturi seemed like it was hours when in reality it was mere moments. Their arrival was effortless but effective. The tension only became thicker but this time it was between Carlisle's whitenesses and the entire Volturi coven and guards. You could tell just by looking on the faces of the defence that some rant didn't want to be here today but they were because they trusted and respected the Olympic Covens leader.

"Aro, let's discuss this how at used to" Carlisle was the first to speak. His facial expressions were stern. His stone like features were more prominent than ever.
"Fair words Carlisle" the raven haired vampire king stated.

The conversation went back and forth between the two men for a little while longer.

I glanced around, observing the scene in front of me, when I noticed a woman. She looked very similar to two members of the Denali coven, Kate and Tanya. Bright blonde hair, golden eyes, extremely pale skin. I assumed their was their sister, Irina. I over heard Edward mention that she was the reason we were all here today. At that thought I instantly knew I didn't like the woman.

Because of her there was a pretty high chance that some of us weren't coming out the other side, some of us were going to lose our lives because this stupid woman jumped to the worse conclusion ever.

"I'd like to meet her" Aro stated one he'd finished conversing with Edward.
Bella led Renesmee towards the the Volturi kings, Jacob on the other side of the young girl and Emmett followed close behind them, for extra shielding.

All of a sudden Aro burst out into a high pitch laugh. My head tilted in confusion but quickly enough I realised that he was simply mesmerised by the fact that she was, in fact a half vampire, half human hybrid.
They went back and forwards about whether or not she'd be a threat to the exposure of their kind.

"You think they've fooled me brother?" Aro turned to his 'brother' Caius after Caius had said something, I must have missed what he said because now I was slightly confused.

"Is this the girl you saw" Aro then turned to Irina.
"I don't know" "Felix"
"She's different, she's grown"
"So you accusations were false"
"I take full responsibility of my mistakes"

"CAIUS NO!" Edwards shouted because Irina was decapitated.

The next thing everyone saw was the arrival of Alice and Jasper. But sure enough everyone was shocked to see the return of the couple but also extremely relieved at the sight.

Aro took Alice's hand in his.
Moments passed before Alice snatched her hand away from his and spoke
"It doesn't matter what I show you, you're not going to listen"

Things happened so quickly. Alice performed a spinning kick to Aro which sent him flaying a fair way back. The guards quickly restrained Alice.
"Let go of her" Carlisle scream as he sprinted towards the red coat coven in an attempt to save his daughter.

Unfortunately his attempts were stopped when in a blink of an eye, Aro turns around the face the rest of us, with none other that Carlisles head in one of his hands. His body lay lifeless on the floor in a heap, whilst Aro smirked menacingly.

Esme's screams echoed throughout the field as everyone stood frozen with shock, fearful looks now etched across everyone's faces as they watched the body of Carlisle be burned to ashes.
