Hello there readers.

Sorry for slow updates. I promise, I'll find way to make it up to all of you. But for now, here it is..

Chapter 19

For friends' sake

Enjoy!

I walked pass Maddie who was on her way to the kitchen. A surprised look on her face.

"Home already?" She said.

I snobbed her.

"Hey, little sister. What's with the snobbing?" She snapped.

I paused at the stairs, turned to face her. She had that 'what-the-hell-was-that' look.

"Well it's a bad day for me Maddie. And all thanks to you." I said, trying to control my piss.

She shook her head.

"You're welcome with that. But what have I done this time?"

"Oh, nothing." Waving something in the air sarcastically. "I just went to school late all because my good sister didn't wake me up." I said 'matter of factly', crossing my arms in my chest.

"Oh. You came late at school and you think that's my fault? Gosh, Casey. You're a grown up Ogre now. No need for big sister to pull you out of your bed and remind you that you have a morning class!" She rolled her eyes in disbelief.

I let out an irritated noised and run up the stairs before shutting my room's door.

I knew it. I can't win an argument with Maddie. What can I do? She's good at it!

I heard my phone rang.

Jewel's name appeared on the screen.
I sighed before answering her call.

"Case! Where are you??!" Jewel shouted from the other line. Good thing my phone's not pinning my ears when I answered it. Or else I'll be deaf after.
"Shut up, Jewel. You're too loud. I'm just at home." I complained.

"Oh, sorry." I noticed Jewel lowered her voice.

"So what is it this time?" I asked boringly.

"Haven't you went to school?? We've been looking for you around the campus." She said.

"And I did the same." I replied.

"So you went?"

"Yup." I said, popping the 'p'.

"Then why the hell you went home?!" She shouted again.

"And why the hell are you shouting?!" I shouted back irritated.

"Well, Casey, it's because you're such a kill joy." She said sarcastically.

I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever. So why did you call?"
I asked plainly.

She cleared her throat first before replying. "I know you already heard about the party tonight."

"So?"

"So, are you coming?"

I thought for a moment. Party is not my thing. And I said that already.

"Casey? I'm asking if you're coming tonight. So, are you?" Jewel asked again.

I let out a deep sigh that I knew Jewel heard.
I have no choice. I know it's not my thing, but I don't want my friends to be upset just because of my out-of-this-world selfishness.

"Fine. I'm coming."

After saying that, I have to pull my phone away from my ear.

Jewel screamed in excitement.

"Okay. So I'm taking back what I just called you. You're not that killjoy friend of mine. Not anymore." She giggled.

"Oh, really? Think I should be happy then." I replied, rolling my eyes.

"See yah tonight, Case!" Jewel said before ending the call.

"Oh, great!" I threw my phone on my bedside table and slammed my back on the bed. I pulled a pillow to cover my face and scream 'til I ran out of breath.

Now what?

I'm going to a stupid party tonight. And I feel like I already knew what was going to happen. Jewel and Dianne will surely enjoy tonight, while I will make myself a flower on the wall watching everyone enjoying every last minute of the party. Ts.
But for friends' sake, I'll be the odd at tonight party.

The. Odd.

For sure.
