Vex knocks on Max's door
Vex: You good? I heard screaming?
Max: Oh yeah, all good bro. All good... Just a dream. Strange dream
Vex: Right. Okay. Gotcha.
Vex goes back to his room
Max: See, benefit of the doubt. For a ghost. Not my worst idea yet. definitely not the best either.
Jim: Listen, I heard you speaking to my grave earlier today. And I suspect you stood in the rain yesterday? Suddenly you have green hair, you got some strange powers you can't explain? Can't sleep?
Max: Uh
Jim: When you stood in the rain, did your skin turn ... colorful?
Max: Yeah?
Jim: Okay, 1 + 1 Max? The rain, the colors, the powers, the hair?
Max: That's more 1 times 4.
Jim: I see you haven't changed
Max: How are you still alive? I saw you, dead, in a casket.
Jim: It's a long story
Max: I've got time.
Jim: The rain. About 200 years ago I was walking outside just doing my thing, feeding the horses and all. And suddenly this extreme rain starts falling right, everyone else ran inside because it was so heavy. But I wasn't done with the horses yet, I needed to put them inside as well.
Max: Horses? 200 years ago?
Jim: Shut up and let me talk. So I stayed outside, and... before I knew it my skin started changing colors. And that's not all, it started glowing. At first I didn't think much of it. But then... the next time I washed my hair, it turned green. I was ... confused, to say the least. 200 years ago we didn't have hair dye, so, that was strange. I tried everything to get it off, but nothing worked. There was one thing I knew for sure. I could let no one see me like that. So I got some hair from the horses and made myself a little wig. Good enough to fool people, apparently. At that point I didn't make the connections yet. I honestly don't know what I thought. So a few years go bye, nothing special happened to me, but I started noticing that my skin wasn't changing. I wasn't getting older, by some weird miracle I still looked the exact same as a few years ago. I tried to let it go because I thought I was going mad, until the people around me started to notice as well. People started asking questions and raised their doubts about me to one another. So a few months passed filled with rumors and no one talking to me. Then ... they showed up to my house with pitchforks and fire. They set my house to flame, with me in it. That was the death of me. I thought. My body was literally on fire, and a few seconds later. I was fine. The fire was out and I was back to normal. No scars, no burn wounds. Nothing. The entire house was ash, but I survived. No one saw me survive so I sneaked out, stole one of the horses and some food and made my way to a distant village where I was sure no one would know me and the rumors wouldn't follow me. I lived in peace there for a couple of years once again I wasn't aging a bit so as the years passed I tried to make sense of it all. I added it all up and started testing my theory, that I was ... immortal. I shot myself, point blank. Few seconds later I was standing up again. So, I kept testing my theory, all the things I tried to kill myself. But I knew nothing was gonna work. I just needed to be sure that I was right. A lot of years passed, I changed towns and names every few years. One day, I was on a journey, to a new town when I came across this bloke with flashy green hair, he was all alone, walking in the forest. So I rode up to him, we started talking and... well VERY long story short. He had powers too, only, he wasn't immortal. That's when I realized that the rain doesn't give one specific power. It gives the power your mind wants the most. SO! When I heard you talking to my grave, and I saw your hair. I knew I needed to come and talk to you, explain everything and try and help you understand whatever new power it is that you have.
Max: What? You ... WHAT? Why? But, just.. then why did you? And how did you? And...
