Zar: It's you! I'm Zara, best friend of Alex. I know who you are
Max: Um... I don't know an Alex.
Zar: The girl on your bus?
Max: Oh, OH! Oh... I remember. You went home with her a few times... I'm not creepy
Zar: What are you doing here, then?
Max: Um.
Vex: Hi, Vex. Her brother. Does Alex have a last name?
Zar: Why?
Max: I'm concerned. I have this really bad feeling that something is REALLY wrong with her. I can't explain it and I know I sound like a lunatic, but when she didn't show up today I just, I got nervous.
Zar: Jackson, Alex Jackson. She talks about you, you know. She trusts you, for some reason. I think you're kinda creepy, but she always says that you wouldn't hurt a fly, that you're a good person. Y'all don't know each other, it's weird.
Max: Yeah, it is.
Zar: What are you gonna do then?
Max: I was planning on going over to her house, just to check that everything is okay.
Zar: Creepy
Max: You gave me her name though
Zar: You sound, honestly worried. And so am I, yesterday, she was... not herself. Something is wrong, I knew it yesterday too. But seeing as you both just randomly started having green hair, I'm assuming it has something to do with you. So, if you can get her back here, like herself. I will help you
Max: Of course, that's all I want, for her to be okay, safe
Zar: Phone
Max hands her phone to Zara, she puts in Alex's address and gives the phone back to Max.
Zar: Don't hurt her, or I'll kill you
Max: I would never, and thank you ... ?
Zar: Zara
Max: Thank you, Zara. I will make sure she's okay
Zar: I put my number in as well. Text me, please.
Max: I will.
Max and Vex walk out the school.
Max: You wanna drive me there too?
Vex: I can't quit now, can I?
Skip to them arriving at Alex's house, it's covered in police tape.
Max: What the hell?
Max gets out the car and walks over to the cops at the house
Max: Hi, um, hi, what happened?
Cop: I can't disclose that information
Max: She's a friend of mine, Alex. Is she okay?
Cop: Like I said, kid, it's not mine to tell
Max: Do you work with Claire?
Cop: Um, yeah
Max: I'm her daughter...
Cop: Then I suggest you ask your mother
Max: I will. Gee, not very helpful are you
Max gets back in the car
Max: Police station
Vex: Oh hell no, mom is gonna freak if she finds out you're not in school
Max: DRIVE
Vex starts driving
Vex: You're worried
Max: The house is covered in police tape, yes, I'm worried
Skip to them walking into the police station where Claire works. They walk up to Claire's desk but she isn't there. Max goes to Sandra's door and knocks on it
San: yeah
Max walks inside
San: Max?
Max: Hi, where is mom?
San: Um, she's with someone, do you need her?
Max: I do
San: Alright
Sandra walks out the office, Max and Vex follow her. They walk over to the break room, Claire is comforting Alex who is crying, Sandra knocks on the glass. Claire looks up and goes to Sandra. Max is seeing Alex, they make eye contact, Alex smiles.
Cla: What the hell are you doing here?
Max: Hi, mom
Cla: Max! I'm working. And you're supposed to be in school
Max: She's my friend.
Cla: What
Max: Can I please talk to my friend?
Cla: No
Max: What do you mean, no?
Cla: This is an ongoing investigation.
Max: Is she a suspect?
Cla: No
Max: Okay, then. Can I talk to her?
Cla: NO.
San: Why not let her talk to her friend? It might make Alex feel a little bit more comfortable too
Cla: Fine. But, I'm going to ask her first
Claire goes back to Alex, Alex nods yes. Claire goes back outside and allows Max to go inside. Max closed the door
Max: Hi
Max walks towards Alex
Max: I know this is weird
Alex stands up and hugs Max, she starts crying.
