Max: He's dead
Spi: BAIN, footage of the gym please
A monitor drops out from the ceiling and shows the live footage of inside the gym, Alex, the panther, is licking her paws in the corner. Jim is slowly coming together again.
Max: He's gonna be fine, right?
Spi: Yes, I mean, I don't think he's ever been eaten by a ... leopard? Are they black?
Max: It's a panther
Spi: How do you know
Max: I love animals.
Spi: Hm.
Jim is whole again and slowly stands up, Alex is still licking her paws. Jim runs out the gym and closes the door
Jim: That was... new
Max: Are you okay?
Jim: Yes, I'm good. So, not a werewolf
Max: A panther
Jim: Yes, exactly.
Max: Can you help her?
Jim: I'll try, Max. But, you can't be there.
Max: Why not
Jim: You care too much. I need to make her mad, I need to make her transform, so she can learn how to deal with it.
Max: I'll be good
Jim: And it's too dangerous. So, you just go chill somewhere, Spike can give you a map and you go explore the CC. I need time alone with Alex.
Max: But
Jim: Final. Max. Go
Max and Spike walk away, Jim keeps looking at the monitor, Alex is still in panther form.
Max: I have a question, I don't want to ask Jim, he's not gonna tell me the truth
Spi: Ask
Max: Have you ever used these powers to do something... good?
Spi: I can't, really. Like in the superhero way, there is not much I can do.
Max: You can, draw houses for third world countries. Or schools, hospitals, food. You could end world hunger
Spi: Yes, I could
Max: But you won't?
Spi: I want too, Max. But we need to keep a low profile. If they find out there are people out there with special abilities, you know what they'll do to us? Hunt us down, experiment, test on us. Try and replicate our powers
Max: Right, but I mean. You literally have a secret city, I'm sure they're not gonna find you
Spi: Maybe not, but then the entire world would know about us, which isn't good.
Max: Has Jim ever?
Spi: No, yes, I don't know. I think so, depends on how you view it
Max: Tell me
Spi: In his early days he would steal from the rich, knowing he couldn't get hurt.
Max: And give it to the poor?
Spi: Yes, yep
Max: Is he robin hood?
Spi: No, no. Robin Hood is just a story originating from the 12th century
Max looks astonished
Spi: I thought about it too, so I looked it up. But yeah, he did due the robin hood thing for a while
Max: Why did he stop
Spi: The police started to catch on.
Max: So?
Spi: He didn't have me yet. He couldn't hide anywhere, so he needed to stop before they found out it was him
Max: And since then he never did anything like that anymore?
Spi: it was too risky. with security camera's being invented, it wasn't safe anymore. If he would be killed on camera to then just walk away? It was too risky
Max: So, if I wanted to do something like ... being good? My power isn't too obvious is it? I could do good without raising a flag to the supernatural
Spi: That's true, very true.
Max: You think Jim would be okay with that?
Spi: Is that what you want to do?
Max: It's all I've been thinking about since I found out about these powers. I have the ability to fight forever, run forever, I could do good things. And if the police catch on, I'm basically just a vigilante, right?
Spi: Yeah, I guess.
Max: So...
Spi: Don't ask me, Max. I am not your dad
Max: No, but, you're his friend
Spike smiles
Spi: Ah, that's why you're asking me
Max: Listen, I just want to use these powers for something good, why else did we get them?
Spi: I understand
Max: So help me, help me become a ... superhero
Spi: Being a superhero comes with great risk too, Max. You're not invincible like your dad
Max: I know, which is why I would need your help. His help.
Spi: Then talk to him, like you just did to me. I'm more than willing to help you, draw whatever you need, but I need your father to give me his okay.
Max: Right, got it. Bro code and all
Spi: Yeah.
Max: Alright. Thanks for telling me the truth, Spike
Spi: he would too, just saying
Max: Yeah, well. He hasn't been known for it.
