When the weird powers didn't leave Steve in the morning either, he knew it was because of that radioactive spider. Steve needed to tell someone, but he didn't trust the police, he knew his aunt would tell the police if he told her, Dustin wouldn't be able to keep it a secret, so the only one left was... his best friend Robin, but she would make him get tested for rabbies or something.

Still, Steve's best shot.

"Hey Robs," Steve greeted the girl on the way to school. "You came from a different direction than yesterday."

"Yep, I moved in the summer and we didn't walk together yesterday," Robin laughed.

"You moved? Why did I only find out now?" Steve asked in disbelief.

"Cause I moved from my fam, because they were homophobic shits and I moved in with two other gay besties, but none of us are dating," Robin smiled while explaining.

"And what am I then?" Steve asked in hurt tone, Robin rolled her eyes knowing Steve's just a big drama queen.

"You're my token straight bestie, but don't worry, you're my bestest bestie best friend," Robin smiled, not being able to help a laugh at how cringe she souded.

"Oh-key," Steve chuckled, while rolling his eyes.

"By the way, have you seen the news this morning, due to the lab situation I forced my roomies to watch it with me," Robin continued.

"I should have, but no. What happened?" Steve asked, what could have gone wrong again.

"The criminality in Hawkins increased about fifty-seven percent since last month, which is like A LOT. Also, they had found one of the escaped experiments, a spider, but it looks like it bit someone before, but they don't know what it did to the person and have no idea who the person is. So the TV reporter asked publicaly whoever got bitten to tell the police," Robin explained, Steve just kept on nodding. "Wait, you don't know about the lab stuff and all-"

"Actually I looked it up yesterday, so I know what happened. What do you think is the Venom thing?" Steve interupted, Robin's eyes lit up.

"You looked it up just so we can talk about it?" Robin looked touched.

"Not just that, but I'll tell you later," Steve explained, Robin nodded.

Later was during their free peroid as Robin was drawing a dress, she said her roommate asked her to design for prom. Steve was sitting across from Robin, they were in the library, and he was bored and anxious, Steve really needed to tell someone, more specifically Robin, right now.

"Hey, Rob?" Steve started, Robin looked up at him to indicate she was paying full attention to him, something they both did if the other started their talk with the others name to indicate it's important what they have to say. "Remember how you talked about the spider this morning?"

"Mhm, what about it?" Robin asked, placing her pencil and sketchbook on the table, moving her body closer to Steve to hear better as he was speaking very quietly.

"How you said it bit someone?" Steve continued, Robin nodded. "The someone was me."

"WHAT?" Robin yelled, turning everyone else's attention to the two. "Another date Steve? How are you still so wanted? So what did you tell her?" Robin quickly covered up, most people stopped listening by now.

"I said no, obviously," Steve rolled his eyes, speaking a little louder than he did before. At this point no one payed attention to the two anymore.

"Did it do something? The bite?" Robin whispered.

"A lot, in fact. And I'm pretty sure I haven't figured out everything yet. But so far, I can shoot spider webs out of my hands, don't ask how that works, I don't know either. Sometimes I can walk on the walls and roof, but I dunno how to control that yet. And that sixth sense or whatever that happened yesterday at lunch," Steve explained, Robin looked at him with her mouth wide open, just like her eyes.

"What are you gonna do with that?" Robin asked, it was clear she didn't think telling the police was a great idea either.

"I was thinking Marvel?" Steve suggested.

"You were thinking about pulling a superhero? Seriously, Steve?" Robin asked in disbelief.

"You mentioned the increased criminality, so superhero is pretty much needed," Steve clarified.

"So, can I work on your costume? Free form?" Robin asked with interest.

"Yep, the only requirement is it needs to somehow symbolize spiders, or something like that. Oh, and make sure no one can recognize me," Steve said, Robin nodded, glancing at her sketchbook, a sigh she wants to go drawing right now. "You can go for that now, while I try to come up with a cool name." Robin immidietely picked up her sketching supplies and started drawing.

It took another fourty minutes, Robin looking up pictures of spiders, lots of pageturns with aplha versions of the costumes and Steve still wasn't even close to any cool name, but Robin was already done. It was a simple blue-red overal with full body coverage.

"The mask is removable, I was also thinking about adding more eyes like real spiders do, but it looked terriffing, so I settled for this. What do you think? Can I start on this today?" Robin asked, having to hold herself back to not start explaining her whole thought process.

"Perfection Robs, now help me come up with the name," Steve gave her thumbs up, Robin smiled.

"How 'bout Spidey?" Robin smiled widely, Steve cringed.

"Sounds like a name for a pet. I need something cool, ya know? Like Iron-man, or Capitain America, Hawkeye... who's there next?" Steve protested.

"Be Spider-man then," Robin said sarcastically, but something about the name stood up to Steve.

"That's it, thanks Robs," Steve said excitedly, hugging her.

"Steve, I was joking," Robin explained.

"Yeah, but it's perfect, a typical superhero name," Steve smiled, Robin rolled her eyes.

"A typical straight, white boy name for a superhero," Robin sighed, "but you are one, so I guess it suits you," she shrugged.

After school the two walked back from school together as always, talking about the stuff that caused Steve having superpowers and making theories about what is Venom and what does it do, neither was even close to what Venom actually was. A monster hiding in the shadows, waiting for a fitting host that wouldn't die while making contact with them, little did they know that it wasn't gonna be so soon...

Robin stopped by a sewing shop to buy elastic cloths in blue and red, including some more stable materials to make the costume, and that's what she did when coming home and greeting her roommates, not adressing what she was about to do.

Steve on the other hand didn't go home right away, rather he stayed out, by a river that flew over the city, there was nothing around so Steve could watch fight videos while training his special powers, he noted to ask Robin to help him next time.
