"Are you still mad at Aonung?" Neteyam asked.

They had snuck away to the grove once again. Under the sun, they had cuddled on their sides with their legs tangled together. Fei had been tracing his stripes with her finger to memorize them. Her other hand was planted over his heart, feeling the rhythm under her palm.

She scrunched her brows together and sighed. "I just..." she started. Looking up from his skin to his eyes, she thinned her lips. "He doesn't understand what he can and can't do. Bringing Lo'ak beyond the reef could have ended much worse if Payakan hadn't saved him."

In recent days, Neteyam had started to believe his brother. He had only done it for Fei, to her dismay.

He almost groaned at the memory of Aonung asking him what was between them. It was brief, but with Neteyam's refusal to answer, he was sure that he had given them away. "Your brother probably knows, now."

Fei'uey let the corners of her lips perk up. "All of them probably know by now, thanks to your little tantrum to stop me from leaving."

"You shouldn't have gotten up in the first place, it's your fault."

"Well, sir," she giggled, pushing Neteyam onto his back and sitting next to him. "I think you should be mindful of the way you look at me. Aonung brought it up."

"I can't control it if you look so pretty all the time." His gaze flickered to her lips. A light blush dusted her cheeks.

She thought back to a simpler time, when Neteyam had first come to the island. Fei felt stupid thinking about the little things that held her back. She hadn't known she would find true happiness in a foreign boy from the trees.

They didn't need to say the words "I see you," for it had been exchanged every time their eyes met. Their love was endless.

Fei could only smile and press her lips against his.

At the Cove of the Ancestors, Fei helped Kiri connect her queue. Neteyam watched her in the water. She looked like an angel, someone he couldn't take his eyes off of.

He had been reluctant to connect his queue. He was nervous of what he would find. The last time, he had a vision of a family. His family, with a daughter and a mate. Then, his pupils dilated.

He was in the grove. He had spent more time in there with Fei than he did on his own elsewhere. A little girl was drawing patterns into the sand. Neteyam had hoped that it was Sylwanin again, but it wasn't. This girl had light teal skin and flowing black hair.

From her distinct features, he realized who it was. He was being shown Fei when she was younger.

As he stepped closer and looked at the sand, he saw intricate patterns of stripes welded with swirls from her own skin. "Hey," He greeted, kneeling down.

She didn't look up.

"What are you drawing?" He tried again.

This time, she responded. "I saw it in my dreams last night. I just don't wanna forget it."

She hadn't even seen him. If she did, she would have found the same boy in front of her like she did the night before when she was asleep.

Neteyam was about to ask more when Kiri starting convulsing. He ripped away his queue and swam over to drag her up. Fei'uey, however, got there first. She propelled herself to the top, dragging Kiri with her.

She took note of the way her white dots had lit up and glowed. Neteyam was next to pull the unconscious girl toward his Ilu. "Come on!"

"Kiri!" Tuk shouted. "Kiri!" Fei took her hand and pulled her close to comfort her. "What is wrong, what is it?!"

"It was a seizure," Rotxo stated. "Is she breathing?"

"Shit," Fei mumbled, eyes wide.

Neteyam pulled her lips open and started blowing air into her mouth. Fei only resorted to stroking Tuk's hair with a worried expression.

"Is she breathing?" Rotxo asked again.

Kiri finally coughed and panted, eyes still closed. "Get her to the village, hurry!" Tsireya told him.

"Let's go, let's move!"

Fei dragged Tuk onto her Ilu, Alat. "Hold on tight."

"Is she going to be okay?" Tuk was almost crying by now. It was normal for such a young child to display sensitive emotions.

"She'll be fine, Tuk," Fei herself didn't believe her words. "I promise." It wasn't in her hands to keep.

Once she made the bond, Alat dove through the water.

Outside the Marui that Kiri had been tended to in with her parents, Neteyam and Fei stood off to the side. They were away from the eye of an curious spectators.

He remembered what Eywa had shown him. "When did you start drawing patterns?" He asked through the silence.

"When I was younger." She dismissed his question quickly and continued to look through the gap of the Marui at Kiri's unconscious body.  She felt a rift in calm water when she looked at the girl. It was but a feeling that she didn't know was true.

He bit his tongue. He didn't want to keep what he saw a secret. "Eywa showed me a vision of you in the grove. You were drawing in the sand."

She froze up. Her eyes snapped over to him. "What did you see?" She whispered, eyes wide. She hadn't planned for him to know about the dream.

He answered truthfully. "I saw stripes and swirls. You and I, Fei." He took her hand into his own and furrowed his brows. "I need you to tell me more. What was it? What did you see in your dream?"

He hoped it was what he saw all those days ago, back when she didn't reciprocate his feelings openly. If both of them had seen the vision of Sylwanin, it could only mean she was true.

A glint of fear was in her eyes. She lied through her teeth. "I don't remember all of it,"

"Then tell me what you do, whenever you're ready." he persisted.

By the way he looked at her, Fei's breath hitched. Memories of the dream flowed into her mind. To see it was a blessing and a curse. She didn't want it to be inflicted on anyone else.

He had been so hopeful to learn something so terrifying.

"Another time," Fei promised.

She didn't want to keep it.
