When there had been word that a Tulkun was killed, the heat was taken off of Fei and Neteyam for a moment. It was relieving, even if it was short.

Ronal's heart dropped. Her mind thought back to the prediction of her daughter. If her spirit sister really was dead, what had she been doing all this time denying the obvious?

The rest of the Tulkun surrounded the dead mother and her calf. Ronal neared the creature with pained eyes. She swam in the water and lifted herself up to meet the dead eye of the Tulkun. She had begun to cry and wail.

Fei's gaze hardened as she watched her mother mourn. Neteyam, who was sitting behind her on Alat, placed a comforting hand on her shoulder. He understood the hostility the girl felt. The evidence that proved her dreams to be true lied in front of them in the form of a poached creature.

"Her name," Tonowari turned to Jake and Neytiri. "Is Roa."

"She was my spirit sister," Ronal forced out, hands planted on the skin of the Tulkun. "She was the composer of songs. We would sing together," she reminisced. "She waited many breeding cycles to have this calf, the clan was so happy for her."

While her mother cried, Fei sat there on Alat. She blankly stared, waiting for the moment that her mother would finally turn to her and ask for her help. To declare that her dream had been right all along. That she wasn't crazy.

Ronal turned her head back. "What is this, Tonowari?" Her voice raised. "What is this?!"

Neteyam rubbed his thumb over Fei's waist, looking over her shoulder to see. He had hoped she wouldn't do anything too out of line, despite supporting her actions.

On the other side, an orange tracker blinked.

A sign of death.

Ronal grabbed Fei's arm as the girl passed by her. An iron grip held her there. Reluctantly, she brought her eyes up to meet her mother's.

The woman frowned. "You knew it would happen."

"I did." Not even an drop of sympathy coated her words.

"And more death will come?" She looked desperate. She was desperate, considering the fact that she set aside her anger for the people.

Fei nodded. She ripped her arm out of the woman's hand, her touch uncomfortable to the girl. "More. Much more. A battle is coming, it is inevitable. Do you know who leads those warriors to death?"

Ronal didn't respond. Both knew who she was talking about.

"You said you would be open to help us. But you are being selfish and hostile, Fei'uey."

The girl bit her tongue. "I am willing to help, yes, but I never said anything about my attitude." She went to walk away, only getting a few steps in before she was called back.

"Fei!" The woman called her by her nickname.

"No," she refused. Fei turned back around and jabbed a finger in the woman's face. "No, you don't get to call me that!" She pointed to the sea, where the dead Tulkun's direction was. "What we just saw, was that enough proof for you? Your spirit sister, gone, because you didn't trust me to prevent it!"

"I ask of your help now," she took the girl's hands in her own and bowed her head. "I must do what is right for the people. To protect them."

"You wanna protect them?" Fei squinted her eyes and let out a shaky exhale. "Fight. Never stop fighting. Push the sky people until all of them are dead. Until they understand that our home is not for them."

Ronal scoffed and threw Fei's hands away. She snarled at the girl's behavior. "You are useless!"

"No," she chuckled. "You are." It wasn't wise to reveal more. "Jake Sully and his family end this. We are all mere pawns. It is them they want. They do not care about us."

"How do I know if you are truly telling the truth?" She rubbed her belly in shock.

Fei rolled her eyes and hardened her gaze, turning on her heel. "Think with your brain, Ronal."

"You were right," she called out. It was a last attempt to salvage their mother daughter relationship.

Fei didn't bother to look back. "I know."
