I'm fuming.
I mean it, I've never been this angry in my life.
What made Jake think that it was okay to just waltz up to me in the middle of my date with Dean? I get that he was there with friends, but he still should've left me alone.
Dean texted me last night to apologize, and then again this morning. I told him both times that what Jake did isn't his fault and he has absolutely no reason at all to be sorry, but he insisted on apologizing anyway. I feel awful, because I don't want him to actually think it's his fault.
This is the side of Dean that most people don't see. The big and strong "tough guy" front he likes to put on is really just for show. He's completely different around me, but then again I am his girlfriend.
The only thing I have planned for today is to give Jake a piece of my mind. After I give myself a pep talk, I march myself out the door and across the street. I ring the doorbell and wait, going through what I want to say when the door opens.
Mrs. K ends up opening the door, and the confusion on her face is only seen for a split second before it changes into a smile. "Morgan! What a wonderful surprise!"
I give her the nicest smile I can and cross my arms. "Hi Mrs. K, I'm here to see Jake. Do you know where he is?"
"He should be up in his room." she answers as she ushers me inside. "Do you want me to show you where it is?"
"No, I should be fine. Thank you though." I answer politely before I stomp up the stairs. I don't care how dramatic I'm probably being right now, because my anger alone is the reason why I'm here. Jake is going to know exactly what I think after I'm done with him.
If I'm remembering correctly, his room is the first door on the right past the balcony, and that's exactly where I march myself. I throw the door open and sure enough, there sits Jake on the couch with a headset on and a controller in his hands.
I walk over to him and yank the controller out of his hands, tossing it onto his bed behind me. "Game's over asshole."
"What the fuck was that for?" he asks as he pulls his headset down to his neck. "You made me lose."
I give him my meanest glare as I stare down at him. "I don't care. You're going to explain whatever the hell you decided to pull last night, and you're going to do it now. I don't have all day, and I don't want to be here longer than I have to."
"C'mon Morgan, it was just a joke." he protests, giving me a grin. "I didn't mean any harm, you know that. Besides, it was funny."
"It wasn't funny at all actually." I snap, and watch as his smile immediately fades. "You ruined yet another thing with Dean because you just had to be an asshole."
"Dean, huh?" Jake mumbles, and I immediately become defensive. "What about him?"
He smirks. "At least I know his name now. You've been so secretive about him that I'm shocked you actually told me his name."
My stomach drops as I realize my mistake. "It wasn't by choice you idiot. I slipped up. That's all you're going to know about him, got it?"
He looks taken aback for a second, but quickly regains his composure and stares at me angrily. "Jesus Morgan, since when are you such a bitch?"
"Since you haven't gotten it through your head that we're never going to be together." I practically snarl, and even I shock myself with how rude that was. Whatever, he deserves it.
"Face it Jake." I continue, not once breaking eye contact. "I don't know how many more times I need to say this for it to get through to you. We are never, ever going to be anything. You've never been anything more than a friend to me, but I don't even know if I want to consider you a friend anymore. This never-ending mission of yours to get me to like you is failing, and it'll keep failing for as long as you keep it up. I'm sorry if I ever led you to believe that we could be something, but we never will be. If you'll excuse me, I'm going to go home now. I can't stand to look at you any longer."
"Morgan, wait-" he starts, but I'm walking out and slamming the door behind me before I can hear whatever stupid excuse he had to try and get me to stay.
Mrs. K looks at me curiously as I make my way towards the front door, and I say the first thing that comes to my mind. "Sorry, my mom just called. I have to go home and finish my chores, otherwise I'm going to be grounded. Thanks for having me over!"
She gives me a small nod, and I take that as my cue to leave. I practically sprint out of there, and I don't stop running until I'm in my room. I go over to my bed and sit down, placing my hands on my head as I try to comprehend what the hell just happened.
I don't know what compelled me to go over and storm into Jake's room like that, but I'm honestly kind of glad I did. Sooner or later, he's going to have to realize that what he's doing isn't okay. Messing with someone's long-term relationship because you happen to like them isn't funny, and he just doesn't seem to get that.
He's almost eighteen, but he's honestly going on five at this point. That's how immature he's being. Maybe I should offer Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy money to send him back to preschool. He could definitely use a refresher in manners.
Once I've calmed myself down enough, I make two Facetime calls. One to Dean, to let him know what I said and how Jake reacted. He thought the whole situation was funny, because he isn't threatened at all by Jake. The other call I made was to Ella and Sadie, who both offered to burn his house to the ground. Although it was tempting, I told them to hold off on that... for now at least.
Hopefully this little bump with Jake resolves itself on its own. Because otherwise, I can almost guarantee that things will become really messy.
