Oliver held the remote for the video game he had been playing since they got to the Domain. "Man, I'm getting really good at this!" He smiled. "I should be a demon hunter in real life. That, or a high school teacher."
"Demon hunter." Leo nodded, looking up from where he laid on the ground, trying to think of way for Chase to get on board with the whole Spike situation.
"They deal with fewer demons." Kaz nodded in agreement.
Oliver nodded just as his phone buzzed. Going to take his phone out of his pocket, he threw the remote to Micaela so she could begin playing. "Oh, no. It's my dad. He keeps asking where I go after school everyday, and I can't tell him about our job." He put his phone down, taking a seat, looking up to his friends in desperation. "Kaz!"
"What?" The boy put his hands up to his face, feeling the mask he had on. "Do I have something on my face?"
"I think he looks better with it on." Micaela stated, looking away from the screen for just a moment.
"I think he looks better." Kaz mocked. "You'd look better with it on!"
"Kaz!" Leo gasped, jumping to his feet. "You can't cover Micaela's face, it's her best feature!"
"It's true." The girl nodded. "You can't hide my million dollar smile!"
"Million dollar smile." He mocked her once again and she turned to whack him in the head with the remote, but was stopped when Oliver spoke up.
"This is serious!" Oliver glared at them, making the three look over to him with their own glares. "What am I gonna tell my dad?"
"Just tell your dad you're hanging out here." Kaz threw the mask back onto the shelf.
"He doesn't want me coming here." He pointed around the room. "He thinks all this superhero stuff is a waste of time."
"But my teacher told me I have to read more." Micaela spoke up, handing the remote to Kaz.
"Like what he does is so important."
"He's a brain trauma researcher."
"Please, anyone can hold a clipboard and give orders using sciency words." Leo rolled his eyes.
"Just tell your dad you're hanging out at my house."
"I can't. He also doesn't want me hanging out with you."
"What about mine?" Leo asked.
"He hates you two even more since you and Micaela are always together, says it's double the chance for something bad to happen," Oliver explained, "and he thinks all three of you are reckless, out of control, and never take responsibility for your own actions."
"One time you get escorted home by the cops with half your head shaved and a broken ankle and suddenly we're reckless?" Kaz asked in disbelief.
