"Come on, stupid bread!" They heard Skylar yelling as they walked through the doors to the rec room, Leo, Kaz, Micaela, and Oliver walking shoulder to shoulder in that order. "Toast! Toast!"
"Doesn't work for you either?" Micaela asked as they approached the superhero. She held her clipboard in her hand, using her unbroken arm.
"Just use this laser." Leo tossed a laser he had stolen from Mr. Davenport. Skylar caught it, death glaring him.
"Works best on medium."
"Hey, Skylar," Oliver nudged the Wells in the side, "still no heat vision?"
"No." She threw the price of bread onto the floor with a pout. "I'm so sick of being in this hospital. I'm bouncing off the walls here! Literally!" The words finally made Kaz, who leaned his back on Micaela's side, look up from his phone for the first time since walking into work. "I tried using my powers to run through them, but I just kept bouncing off."
"Hey," Kaz pushed past Oliver and Leo, hand on Micaela's back to pull her with him to stand in front of Skylar, "uh, why don't you hang out with us?"
"Why's he sound so desperate?" Leo asked Oliver, staring at Kaz with suspicion.
"I think I know." Oliver sighed, resting his clipboard at his side.
"There's this carnival at our school." The boy explained. "You should totally come."
"I don't know. I've never spent any time in the normal world. I mean, I just fly from my planet, save humanity, and fly out. At most, I'll stop for a soft pretzel."
Micaela nodded in approval at her words as Kaz pinched her in the side. "Ow." She muttered with a glare, only earning a look from him that consisted of him motioning his head to Skylar with his head. The girl clenched her jaw, turning back to the alien-superhero. "You should come. We could stop at my place and get you some clothes."
"I won't fit in at your school." Skylar stayed with a shake of her head, arms crossed. "Just like I don't fit in the superhero world anymore." She walked past the four, all of them turning as Kaz spoke to her.
"Oh, come on. It's just what you need."
"Oliver." Micaela whispered harshly, kicking the boy in the ankle, keeping her eyes on Kaz as he spoke. "Ask her out."
"Wha- I-"
"For you and your best interests, having nothing to do with me and my best interests at all."
"Right now." Micaela demanded even harsher as Leo watched with wide eyes, completely confused.
"I could use a break from Mighty Med." The superhero agreed.
"Which is why you should go with me." Micaela rushed to stand in front of Skyler, pushing Kaz out of the way.
"Me and Mick know the best tailor." Leo spoke up, pushing Kaz as well to join the girl's side. "Go every month."
