Hundreds of times, Leo had called, texted, left her voice messages. But Micaela didn't pick up. She had told him she got her phone taken and blocked him from seeing her location. Micaela tried distancing herself from him as much as possible. Wasn't that hard, considering her mom barely let her do anything unless it involved Marcus.

At school, she'd say she had a lot of studying with Rory to do. Which wasn't a lie. She just started studying with Rory again to have an excuse not to talk to Leo.

Worst thing about school was that in chemistry, her, Leo, and Marcus were lab partners. She could feel Marcus sadly eying her anytime Leo said anything to her. He kept 'reassuring' her that it'll be okay even if Leo doesn't forgive her for pushing a button in the car and almost sending them into the ocean.

Micaela had enough of it and got her teacher to switch her to a different group. Luckily, when Leo asked Miss Morris why she switched her out, the woman just stared at her computer screen and replied 'Get away from my desk, Dooley.'

"Ugh." Leo complained, walking over to Micaela where she stood and waited for the bell to ring. The Dooley fiddled with the straps of his backpack and rocked on his feet. "How could she do this? She never switches anyone."

"I don't.." Micaela tried as she shrugged her shoulders.

"Wait." Leo spun on his heels to pint his finger right in Marcus' face, who had been walking up to the two.

"Woah, Leo." Marcus pushed the the boy's hand down. Before Leo could say any kind of response, the bell finally rang.

"We gotta find Rory, don't we?" Marcus quickly walked past Leo, grabbed her hand and dragged her out of the classroom.

"Mick..." Leo watched, stunned at the sight. "Wow. Do you think- no! No!" He gasped. "They're friends now?"

"Are you serious?" Leo stared at the door in disbelief. Honestly Leo felt like his whole world had just shattered around him. Dramatic as it may sound to anyone, Micaela was the most important person in his life. Without her, he wasn't so sure what to even do. She was always there.

At school? She's there with him. Comic book store? She's there. Road trip? She's there. Any family vacation? She's there. When he just wants to chill on his couch and read comic books? She's there. He's doing something stupid? She doing it too. Dinner? She's there. Breakfast? She's there.

Leo could hardly remember a day in his life where Micaela wasn't there, up until Marcus came around.

"Woah, slow down eyebrow." Micaela yelled at the boy who was dragging her towards the cafeteria. She slapped his hand off her hand and glared at him. "There's no-"

"Leo's coming." Marcus quickly lied, grabbed her hand, and dragged her into the cafeteria. This time she didn't complain. Until her eyes landed on Rory who sat at the table Marcus was leading her to.
