Chapter 9 ~ a rather not nice surprise

Joshua headed up with the 2 hot cups in hand, slowly trudging his way up the stairs. He shoved the slightly opened bedroom door with his back and entered the room. He heard the shower running so he knew Jeonghan was still showering. He took the time to blow on his tea to cool it down a little bit

He waited a little bit for Jeonghan to finish up so he could look at his condition. He was ready to nurse up and take care of him even if it was just a hangover. He wanted to sit rather than standing in the middle of his room but he didn't want to sit on his bed nor use the chair next to the desk. He felt as if it was rude without asking so he decided to just sit on the carpeted floor. Well, he didn't complain since the carpet was soft

Joshua heard the shower turn of so he stood back up and picked uo Jeonghan's tea, along with his that he was slowly sipping on. He ealked towards the bathroom door which was attached to the bedroom ready to greet Jeonghan

What he wasn't ready for was Jeonghan's half naked body appearing infront of him, with only a towel covering up his lower body.

"COUGH COUGH!" Joshua almost spat out his burning hot tea but instead he burnt his tounge. He coughed more and opened his mouth in pain

Jeonghan saw the other almost choking, patting his back to try and help him.

"T-thanks and sorry" Joshua showed a half smile while still being shocked and in pain and looked over to Jeonghan

"Jeonghan? What are those?" Joshua suddenly switched to a serious tone, looking at Jeonghan's body. His smile turned into a frown, his eyebrows furrowed

"A-ah I- Uh.." Jeonghan had forgotten his upper body was completely exposed.

Jeonghan's chest and stomach was completely covered with wounds. They were healing, but were definitely still visible.

"I-I'm sorry you had t-to see me like this" Jeonghan stuttered as he grabbed his clothes from his bed and rushed to the bathroom, before locking it. Joshua was in shock, he didn't think for awhile. After a few seconds, he finally broke the silence.

"Hey, don't apologise. I'll act like I never saw it or we could talk about it I'll leave it to you. I'll leave you alone for now but don't hesitate to come and talk to me about it ok? I'm always here for you" Joshua said as he left Jeonghan's room.

He headed back to his room and tried not to think about it. He wanted to help Jeonghan, but what if Jeonghan didn't want his help? Maybe he wanted to be alone for awhile? Joshua didn't know but he wanted what's best for him. Though his heart ached.

An hour passed and he heard the creak of Jeonghan's door. But he didn't hear a knock on his until a few more minutes

"Hey it's Jeonghan. C-can I come in?"

'He must have had a hard time deciding if he should tell me..' Joshua thought before answering him

"Yes please come in"

Jeonghan opened the door with his hands trembling a little. Joshua, who was sitting on his bed patted the space beside him to signal Jeonghan to sit with him. Jeonghan complied, and sat right beside him.

"You can tell me whenever you want, I'll wait" Joshua said with a reassuring smile.

"It's a long story.."

"We have all the time in the world. I'll listen to everything you say"

Jeonghan took a deep breath, before starting his story

"It was about a month or 2 back. I had a crush on this guy back then, and yes I am gay. I decided to confess one day, it was a few days after finals. He was casually walking down the hall alone and I was the only one there. He was usually surrounded by people but that day was different so I figured it was my only time to tell him my feelings. I had a crush on him for awhile now, but I never really talked to him even though we were in some classes together. So I stopped him and t-told him my feelings. I wasn't expecting him to have the feelings towards me, but I wanted to get this crush of my shoulders. He started laugjing when I said I liked him. He then called me names and disgusting. He p-pushed me into the wall and kicked my stomach. I don't know why he had to do that but he started punching me too. But he only did it in my upper body so it wouldn't be visible. He told me he wanted to puke at the thought of a gay person liking him in a romantic way."

At this point, Jeonghan was already in tears. He tried to wipe them away but more started to fall.

Joshua embraces him in a tight hug, also patting his back in the process

"Don't listen to him. Nothing is wrong with being gay. Everyone's sexaulity and identity is beautiful. No one deserves to be called disgusting. Let it all out, I'm right here."

Jeonghan started sobbing, holding onto Joshua's arm firmly. Joshua stayed silent, patting his head. They stayed like that for a long time, Joshua patiently waiting for Jeonghan to let out all his sorrows that he hid.

"Thanks..for everything" Jeonghan said, still leaning onto Joshua.

"Anytime. Actually wait stay right here I'll be back quick." Joshua released Jeonghan from his grasps and went to the toilet. He csme back out in s minute with a warm towel in his hand.

He gently wiped Jeonghan's face, cupping it while cleaning him up. Jeonghan closed his eyes, letting him do what he did. He tossed the towel onto his bed, and used both his hands to pinch Jeonghan's bread-like cheeks

"Feeling better?" Joshua asked, teased

"Mmm..thanks again" Jeonghan replied, his eyes still shut and his faced stretched with Joshua still pinching his cheeks

"Stop thanking me. I should be thanking you for trusting me enough to tell me what happened. Thank you. Want to grab some ice cream to lift your mood?"

"Let's go!" Jeonghan let out a bright smile, and hopped off the bed, pushing Joshua out to hurry and leave the house to get some sweet desert.

Joshua was glad Jeonghan was back to his cheery mood
