Alina
I had been moved. This room was different. It wasn't a filthy prison cell. The bed beneath me was comfortable and didn't stink of rot and mildew. There were still no windows and only a heavy metal door. The air was stale but didn't smell like it did before.
Moving my arms and legs, I could feel a heavy weight. I was still bound in chains.
Dammit.
I slumped down, leaving my hands to dangle above my head and shoulders. It was hopeless. I was far too weak from not feeding. I needed blood, or I was going to die here.
Despair washed over me as memories of being chained and constrained to the basement of our manor came flooding back.
The raw blisters and cuts on my wrists from the shackles were all too familiar.
Feeling like a little girl again, I felt so alone. I missed Bakugou. I wanted to feel his arms wrap around me in an awkward, comforting hug. I missed the friends I made at school.
As mad as I was, I missed my uncle. He took me in and turned his whole life upside down for me, and I repay him by not trusting him and going against his word. Then I go and get kidnapped.
I'm so stupid.
A lock clicked from across the room. My body went rigid as it slowly opened. I smelled smokey manly musk before I could see a lanky silhouette.
"Here."He crossed the dark room in two strides and stood over me.
Looking up at him in confusion, I could make out the aqua in his eyes as he stared down at me.
"If you want to keep your pretty face the way it is, don't fucking bite me." He warned.
Debating on taking his threat seriously, I pursed my lips when a small pop came from his pocket. I immediately smelled the sweet tang of fresh blood. My fangs clicked into place as the beast inside of me fought to get to the blood it so desperately craved.
He placed a drop onto a small square that resembled paper. The paper absorbed it and he reached up grabbing me by my hair. He used this to tilt my head back. As I gasped he used his free hand to press the blood soaked paper onto my tongue.
Greedily the vampire in me swallowed the paper. The faint cooling sensation was squelched by the burning need for more. Rattling against my chains I pleaded for more.
"No. They will notice if you gain strength. Don't say I never did you any favors." He muttered placing the cap back onto the small vial before placing it back in his pocket. Before I could say or do anything he stormed out of the room.
That little touch of blood gave me enough strength to pull myself up on to my knees. From this position there was less strain on my arms and I was grateful for the relief.
My vision adjusted to the darkness with just the single drop of blood. The chains in here were more durable than the ones in the dark cell.
Damn. I swore as I tugged on them with the strength I did have.
"Dammit!" I growled slumping against the wall.
I didn't understand why this was happening. I didn't understand what these people wanted with me.
It was confusing and frustrating, but above all else, it was pissing me off. I was slowly starving. I was getting weaker by the minute, but they needed me alive.
"What do you want from me?!" I screamed helplessly. My body shook as tears welled in my eyes.
Bright lights suddenly flashed on above my head. Squeezing my eyes shut, I hissed at the sudden brightness in my sensitive eyes.
"I was wondering when you'd start to snap. Now, to see how long until you break."
Blinking, my vision blurred before I realised who was standing in the doorway. It was Overhaul. I could smell his antiseptic gloves from here.
"You didn't take long at all, did you?" He chuckled, slowly crossing the room.
"Pity. I was expecting....more." He sighed in disappointment. He stopped at the foot of the bed. Folding his arms over his chest, his yellow eyes stared me down.
"I bet you're wondering why you are here, where you are, and what we want you for. Don't worry, the time for answers will come eventually. For now- I just need this." He took out a syringe with a needle at the end.
Two men with masks came forward and reached for me.
Hissing in warning, I bared my teeth. My eyes glowed, but not as bright as they would had I been properly fed.
They hesitated for a moment. One reached for me, and I kicked him in the stomach. He let out a satisfying whoosh of air before scrunching into a ball on the floor.
"Come on, you worthless piece of junk, get up." Overhaul kicked him on his back.
The second masked man dove on my legs and pinned them down. The second guy stood up again and with an aggravated growl, grabbed my hair, and yanked my head back forcefully.
Baring my fangs, I hissed at him, hoping to scare him off. He held fast and used his other hand to hold down my chest to keep me from moving.
"Don't worry, this will only pinch for a moment." Overhaul jabbed the needle into my neck and pulled back on the plunger.
My blood filled the syringe. Overhaul yanked the needle out, causing my neck to sting. He watched with disturbing intrigue as my body slowly healed itself.
"Fascinating. Get some rest. You're going to need it." Overhaul chuckled, waving the blood filled syringe.
As he left, I was plunged into darkness again, feeling worse than I did before.
What did they want with my blood? Who are these people?
If I was going to survive this place, I needed all of the information I could get. Thinking of the smokey guy with the blue eyes, I pursed my lips.
He could be just as scary as Overhaul, but he chose to sneak me some blood. He was gruff but kinder to me than the others. I had a sneaking suspicion that he was the reason behind my better accommodations.
If I can get someone on my side or even open up to me, I might get some answers I'm looking for, and I might just be able to escape this place.
