Luffy's Pov:

"I love you, Luffy" she said weakly.

Then she kissed me on the cheek. Not bad. It wasn't bad at all. I sat there with a grin on my face. I didn't know how to react to that.

She was brave to do that in the first place, and I would really hurt her if I said the wrong thing. If only she would say something else I would be able to respond. Im not good at this kind of thing. What do I do?

She began to cry. I ran out of time. I didn't answer fast enough.

"Luffy, I'm sorry. I-" she whimpers as she begins to cry louder.

She did nothing wrong, though. So why was she apologizing? It was just a kiss. What was the big deal anyway? I hug her to let her know that it was fine. Some things I just don't understand, and this was one of them. I interrupt.

"Sorry for what? I didn't complain, did I?" I ask as I pull her closer and smile.

She seemed to calm down and she let herself smile as well.

Good. I didn't screw up completely. I enjoy her warm touch until Sanji brings our plates, and we begin to eat.

Kitchen 3rd Person Pov:

"Well well, Nami. Your plan seems to have worked."

"It wasn't even a plan. She just yelled at him." said Ussop.

Nami gave him a glare that said 'I will torture you with the fury of a thousand thunderstorms if you say another word' he awkwardly laughed and shut up.

She turned back towards Robin and smiled.

"That's great, Robin. Those two are so cute. And she's gonna need him. She is really strong, and she managed to speak to me earlier, but I could tell by how she acted that she didn't want to. She was uncomfortable"

"This can't be happening. The most beautiful woman in the world can not be in love with our idiotic captain. Please say it isn't so." Sanji cried.

"Silence, lovecook. Let her do what she wants. She's a grown woman, not a pet. And it isn't like you have a chance with her anyway. She would be disgusted by your swirly eyebrows. Cry about it"

"WHAT DID YOU SAY MOSSHEAD!??"

"YOU HEARD ME DARTBOARD!!"

"Shut up or I'll murder both of you. Zoro is right Sanji. You should leave them alone" Nami said.

"Alright fine, Nami. But only because you said so. I'm off to go cry myself to sleep.

Luffy's Pov:

After we eat I take our plates into the kitchen. Everyone is staring at me again.

"I just came to put the plates up. What's wrong now?"

"Nothing, Luffy. You did good. I'm proud." Nami said with a smile.

I smile as well. I'm happy when Nami is proud of me, because she doesn't hit me when she's proud.

"I think you should sleep with her, Luffy. Maybe she'll let you see her panties." said Brook.

"Brook is right, that's a SUPER idea."

I speak, "Yeah I was already planning to sleep with her...She's still pretty scared. I can't leave her alone with Robin and Nami. And I can't sleep with her in the mens quarters because there'll be others. Plus she can't sleep in the same room as Sanji..." I explain.

"Where will you go?" Chopper asked.

"...So that means Ill have to go to the Crow's Nest. And I don't really care about her panties. What's the big deal about panties anyway, Brook?"

"Any real man would know! How can you ask that question, Captain?" Brook asks.

Any real man? I'm a real man, right? Maybe I can only be a real man if I find out what it's about... Nah maybe he's just weird. I don't know.

"Because its not even a big deal. You're just weird," I say. "Goodnight guys.

I grab the blankets and pillows and make my way back to the Crow's Nest. Once I get in I hand Hancock a few blankets and a pillow. She makes a little cot on one side of the Crow's nest and gets in. I do the same on the other side.

3rd person Pov:

For a few minutes they didnt lay down, instead sitting on their beds like chairs, and talking to one another. Eventually, Luffy pauses, their light hearted banter about how goofy the crew is ceases, and he speaks more seriously.

"Hancock. Are you happy here?" He asked.

Her smile slowly faded. She was unsure, to tell the truth, but being unappreciative of the man she loved, and the man that saved her life, was unbecoming.

"Of course I am, it's much better here than where I was."

"Be completely honest." He commanded, making her feel guilty.

"Yes. I'm sorry for lying to you... Have I lost your trust?" She asked, worriedly. He was growing impatient, but he slowed himself down for her. The light in the crowsnest was dim, neither of them faced each other, as far as they were. They both looked at the floor, Hancock because she was ashamed, Luffy because he was lost in thought.

"Not at all. Please, just tell me what's in your head."

She sighed. And did her best to steady her voice.

"Truthfully, I still don't feel safe. I'm so glad to be here with you, and I want to be nice to your friends. But part of me expects to wake up in a cell, and I'll likely kill myself if I find out this is a dream. Another part of me worries that we've angered the strongest power in the world. I worry that you can't protect your friends, and I can't protect you. What if an admiral is sent after us? Truly I'm so thankful to you, but what now? I only see pain in the near future."

"..." It made perfect sense to him. He never thought that deeply, but understood her concern. He abandoned his cot, and joined her on hers. "Hancock you shouldnt worry so much. I'm gonna be King of the Pirates. I can't do that if any of us die."

"What about my family though? Amazon Lily is sure to be destroyed, even if you're safe, I'm not. You can't protect me and achieve your dream at the same time, and I won't hold you back. Perhaps I should've died"

He clenched his teeth, angered by her last remark. "Do you think I risked my life, and the lives of my friends, because I wanted you to die!?"

"Well. N-no"

"I went because I want you safe and happy. And no matter what happens, you will be! And so will your family. Everything will be fine, I'll figure something out. Don't say stupid things!" He yelled. She could tell the risks were fresh in his mind. He was stressed, but he wouldn't let her know. He was reliable, and surprisingly intelligent when it was necessary.

"Sorry..."

"Do you believe me?" He asked. Looking her in the eyes for the first time since they had made their beds. For some reason, his gaze didn't intimidate her. She fell for this man for a reason, he was a hero. Her heart told her to trust him, over her own instincts, and her own experiences.

"Yes. Everything will be okay. And we'll both be happy."

"Good" he said with a smile. "Then let's sleep, we have to go back to Rayleigh tomorrow." He stretched his arm across the room, grabbing his blankets and pillow. "I'm sleeping with you, okay?"

"Okay"

He lay his bed by hers, and laid down. Noticing her breath several minutes in, still active and steady, he grabbed her waist and pulled her against himself. She didn't say anything, but she smiled.

"Goodnight Luffy" she said with a smile, after a few seconds of deliberation.

"Goodnight Hancock."
