The Sacrifice of the Snake Princess

Hancock Pov:
After Luffy returned from his 2 years of training, he met up with his crew, wanting to leave the Sabaody Archipelago with them, and resume his journey to becoming the Pirate King. This meant that Fishman Island was his next destination. I made sure he had a safe departure.

Sabaody was plagued with unforgiving summer heat and moisture that made everything sticky. Anchored near the shore of one of the Archipeligo's many islands, I saw, from a distance, the Thousand Sunny. Luffy and his crew were in the process of fighting off Marines, who were shooting cannons at them. It was quite simple. I used Slave Arrow to intercept the projectiles and blew Luffy a kiss as he sailed away. It seemed, however, that the navy had taken all they could take from me. The Navy dispatched Kizaru, but he was too late. Before I knew it, however, I was in handcuffs and shackles.

"This is your fault, Empress. You're the reason the Strawhats got away. For the sake of my pride, I can't return to Marine HQ with nothing." Kizaru said, removing his glasses and opening his eyes. "You'll have to let them decide what happens to you."

It was Unbelievable. I had spent too many years of my life living as a slave, a dog for the World Nobles. Yet there I was, captured by them, or rather, their lapdog. I wanted to cry but I didn't. I told myself it was worth it. Luffy escaped, and that's all that mattered.

I sat in sea stone handcuffs, aboard a marine ship, anxiously waiting for someone to come in to take me away. I already knew where I was going. The most beautiful woman in the world... it was foolish to assume that I could become anything other than a toy for the supposed gods of this wretched world. They wouldn't let me die. The Celestial Dragons would keep me for personal use. I knew that.

...Later that Day

Luffy's Pov:
I was elated that Hancock helped me out. She always does I thought with a smile. I and the crew were aboard the ship having fun like always. Everyone was happy to be back together again. Our shenanigans culminated in an ambient buzz that created a warm atmosphere. Zoro exercised in the Crowsnest. Sanji bothered Nami in the kitchen. Robin and Chopper read in the Library. Franky and Usopp were downstairs working on a new invention together. Brook danced merrily across the deck, lightening all of our moods with his cheerful songs, and I ran around bothering everyone. It was like nothing changed at all during the two years we spent apart.

Nonetheless, Nami informed us that we needed to sail in the direction of the Redline very briefly, before dropping below the surface. This gave us two extra hours on the surface after leaving Sabaody.
I jumped on Sunny's Figurehead and looked out at the unbounded ocean. We've come a long way, but there's still a long way to go... Before we submerged, Nami opted to wait for the News Coo, wanting to inform herself as much as possible before being isolated from the world above the ocean. What she didn't expect, however, was the headline printed in thick bold letters at the top of the front page. The switch in her gaze alone made me weary.

"What is it, Nami"

She points to a paragraph. "Pirate Empress Boa Hancock, formerly known as one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, was captured earlier today. She actively prevented a Marine fleet from capturing the Strawhat Pirates and they escaped. Admiral Kizaru was summoned and she was captured."

"Oh no. Hancock was captured... What's going to happen to her?" I asked frantically.

Robin, more often than not the quietest one on the ship, spoke up. "Well, Captain, the Pirate Empress is said to be the most beautiful woman in the world. She's probably going to become a slave to the Celestial Dragons. The home of the Celestial Dragons is on top of the Red Line, at Mariejois. That's likely where she'll spend the rest of her life."
