Aizawa had not left Kimiko's bedside, not when the girl had not woken up in a week. The doctors assured him that she was just resting, healing from the mental and physical torture she surely went through.

Recovery Girl had healed her the best she could, but the damage to her right hand and her abdomen were substantial.

The doctor had told Aizawa that the damage to the nerves in her right hand was severe and she will have trouble using it in the future.

Many of the students from class 1-A stopped by to check on the girl, Uraraka and Kirishima were visibly shaken at the sight of the sleeping girl.

Her face was pale and bruised with bandages wrapped around her head and arms, her right hand just visible through the bindings where they could see the badly burned fingers.

Aizawa was surprised it took Bakugou a few days to visit, the boy had his usual scowl when he entered the room, nodding at his teacher as he walked to the other side of the bed.

Bakugou's scowl softened as he looked at the girl, his eyes filled with sadness and regret that he hadn't saved her sooner, 'what kind of hero am I?' he thought.

When he was sure that Aizawa was not looking, he reached out to gently hold the girl's hand, giving it a gentle squeeze.

Aizawa watched the exchange as he pretended to read his book, he knew the two had become close, Kimiko often told him over dinner of the two's arguments and how Bakugou refused to acknowledge her as a friend.

Glancing up from his book, he eyed the explosive boy's face as he looked at the girl with gentle eyes. 'Oh so it's like that huh?' he thought to himself, fighting a laugh at the oblivious boy.

Bakugou jumped as though he just realized he was still holding the girl's hand, releasing it immediately as his scowl returned.

He risked a cautious glance to Aizawa, sighing in relief when he realized the man was still reading his book. Backing away from the bed, he walked right towards the door without another glance at the two.

Another few days had gone by and Aizawa was starting to get annoyed at the lack of progress in Kimiko's condition. The monotone beeping of the machines was setting him on edge as he sat beside her bed, holding her hand.

Taking a deep breath, he allowed his shoulders to relax and his eyes to close, "Ai-chan?"  his eyes snapped open instantly meeting tired blue orbs.

He felt a smile tugging at his lips as he stood, pulling her into a hug, "you had me worried there, kid," he said, allowing himself to sit on the bed as he held her in his arms.

"How... How long has it been? How did we escape?" she asked, face still buried in his chest. "Midoriya, Kirishima, Iida and Yaoyorozu went to rescue you guys," he replied, annoyance clear in his tone.

Kimiko hummed in response, her head still hurt, but it was good to be awake and back with Aizawa. The man released her from his arms, though remained sitting beside her on the bed.

The girl's heart squeezed when he told her of All Might's fight with All for One, she knew that All Might had been injured and not healing previously. Hell, she had tried healing him herself and it wouldn't work.

Aizawa caught her up on all of the events, how Yaoyorozu made a bandage and wrapped her stomach while Bakugou carried her all the way to a hospital and the group refused to leave until Aizawa arrived.

He also told her of the school's decision to move the students to a safe location. Losing two of them to the villains was a black stain on the schools perfect record, leaving the public angry and distrustful.
