October.

Costumed kids appear in the yard, trick-or-treating while Bella sits alone in her room. Janie and Charlie actually band together to give the trick-or-treating kids candy. For the sake of a depressed Bella, Charlie and Janie have been getting along.

November.

Neighbors - Bob Marks and his wife - bring Charlie a turkey... they glance up at Bella's window with concern... Janie puts the sides she made and turkey on a plate and brings it upstairs. Bella eats, showers, and uses the bathroom for the sake of her sister.

December.

For Christmas, Janie is spending it on the reservation at Harry and Sue's. Charlie actually understands because Bella's depression effects Janie. She spends that Christmas being ignored by Leah, flirted on by Seth, talked to about her future as a 'doctor' (her dream job) by Sue, and fathered by Harry all while Charlie takes his turn taking care of a depressed Bella,

Now it's January. Janie throws a snowball at Seth's head and he gapes at her retreating figure as she goes to her Jeep. Charlie has been letting her stay with the Clearwaters when Bella's depression becomes too much for her to handle.

Janie goes home and she sees Bella on the couch.

"It's better than her room," Charlie claims.

"Yeah," Janie replies. "I have a paper due when school starts back."

She kisses Bella's head and goes to her room and she starts typing after sending Jasper her weekly update on her life and on how she's doing. He never responds and she doesn't expect him to, but she hopes he at least opens them.

Janie finishes her paper and she prints it out. She begins worrying about Bella.
