11th December, 2024, Belgium

Dinner was treated without much fanfare tonight, since it was just Russia all by his lonesome. Germany was out for drinks with friends right after work, and wouldn't be back until later. So Russia simply ordered himself a pizza, hit play on the TV remote for Season 3 episode 5 of House M.D, poured a glass of whiskey and got cozy on the couch to fully enjoy his evening of introvert bliss.

He was on his freshly refilled second glass and down 3 and a half episodes, an empty pizza box resting near his propped up feet on the coffee table, when he picked up the sound of a car at their driveway, and then a minute or two later, the sound of keys at the front door. He was way too comfortable under his blanket and pillow to bother moving, snacking on a bowl of blueberries for dessert just as the door swung open, bringing in a chilly blast of autumn night air into their nicely heated home.

"I'm back, Ru!" Germany announced chipperly, as if he didn't hear his arrival minutes ago, clattering around as he took off his shoes and put down his stuff. Russia had enough love for him despite the noisy interruption of his personal quiet time to glance over the back of the couch, letting out a hum in acknowledgement before going right back to the TV.

His view was unfortunately disrupted again as his very-likely drunk boyfriend plonked himself down on top of him, making overly-affectionate cooing noises as he grabbed his face and gave him a fat smooch on the cheek, hands ruffling his snow white hair endearingly like he was greeting a pet. "Did you miss me?" Germany giggled, cheeks flushed a warm rosy red even under his flag colours, pupils dilated and round.

"Not that much. Move out of the way." He grumbled, pushing at him until he flopped off him and slid down onto the couch cushion next to him, still giggling softly. Russia wrinkled his nose at the stench of beer on his breath. Don't get him wrong, it wasn't bad really, but when you've been fine dining on fancy aged-whiskey and Domino's pizza, it was a bit off-putting.

Germany scrambled to sit up better, gangly and slender limbs uncoordinated from the alcohol in his system, a smile plastered on his face. "I had fun, we talked a lot. France made me try a jello shot! I prefer my weissbier, though."

"That's nice, schatzi." Russia said offhandedly, popping another round blueberry into his mouth and chewing. Germany just grinned even prettier and reached over to grab a handful from his bowl, an sly fox with his spoils.

How he managed to get away with it was a mystery of love, he supposed. Russia drew the line when he reached to take his whiskey glass though, tightening his hold. "Nu-uh, you've had enough today. Let go." Germany blinked those wide honey-gold eyes of his in surprise, his front teeth visible between his parted lips, the tip of his nose faintly pink and flushed.

Russia stopped-short for a split second, feeling his resolve crumble into pieces but quickly pulled himself together again, not letting his overwhelming love for that handsome face cave him in. He tugged his glass free and proceeded to take a big sip, the smoky flavour mixing with the crushed blueberries in his mouth.

"Just a tinyy sip?" Germany asked, pinching his fingers together and scooching to sit closer until his chin was nearly on his shoulder. Russia shook his head vehemently, feeling laughter bubbling up from his chest, a light and freeing sensation that seemed to come so easily around the love of his life.
