Hello!!

Meet the Mermaid and Pirate AU!!!

Surprise~

Was it what you expected? XDXD

Sorry if the song confused you instead-

Its more of the pre-chorus part that made my brain click it to this AU,

But you will see the whole song come together when the AU ends.

Heck I feel like I should make this a separate book-

In the future I'd say. I don't think I could handle two books at once >///<

This idea is originally from my good friend JuliaGarcia469  <3

I can't promise much for this first oneshot, there is not much action or details, but I promise the next one (Which I am currently editing and should be out in three days-) will be better.

Or prove more interesting that this lil scrap XD

Hope you enjoy uwu

Germany walked on the deck of his ship, holding a match in his hand as he went around lighting oil lamps, casting circles of orange light dotted around the ship. The sun had finally dipped into the sea, and the sky turned into a dark blue, thick with sluggy clouds.

His crew had retired into the ship's interior, snoring immediately once their head hit their hammocks after a long day of sailing. Others continued trekking around the deck, chatting in soft murmurs, sipping cheap whisky from their steel flasks.

"Dark, boiling clouds in the sky," Germany overheard someone said to another shipmate. "Might be a bad omen. I've heard of evil spirits and creatures that come around at these times, stirring trouble with the sailors."

The other man laughed. "How interesting. I suppose we all better go and tuck ourselves into bed with our feet in our blankets, then? Wouldn't want any spirits to came drag us away while we sleep." He snickered, waving his fingers in a spooky manner playfully in the man's face.

The older sailor growled, and stormed away into the heart of the ship, where the rest of the crew slept. The sky grew darker, only the faintest shimmer of light told apart the sky and the sea. The rest of the men headed to bed as well, leaving Germany alone on the captain's deck.

The young sailor walked over, his platinum blonde hair tied in a small ponytail, a small skip in his step despite the grinding stress of being at sea. Germany leaned against the railing at the quarterdeck, the wheel behind his back as he stared out into the vast black waters.

"Spirits and creatures, the things delusional sailors come up with and spew at the drinking tables." He cackled, coming to lean beside Germany, adjusting his bandanna around his neck, and pulling out a silver flask at his hip.

Germany smiled, not needing to turn to see who he was. "Hey Italy." He greeted. "You shouldn't poke fun at Gred like that. He's the most experienced man we have on the ship."

"Mhm." Italy grunted, taking a swig from his bottle and offering it to Germany, who declined with a small shake of his head. Italy sighed contently and looked out to the sea with him, swinging his leg behind him with the tip of his boot touching the floor.

"I can definitely see what our fathers liked about this life. It's nice to be out at sea day and night, calming." He said wistfully, choosing to ignore Germany's words previously. "But not the raiding and stealing part though, that feels a bit wrong." He grinned, nudging Germany with his elbow.
