Jaemin woke up nice and early, 7am on the dot. The first rays of sunlight brightened the living room as the sun cast a rosy hue across the sky. Jaemin squirmed and rubbed his eyes until he was able to open them. He sat up, realizing that he was on the couch by himself. However, there was a delicious aroma coming from the kitchen.
Jaemin removed the blanket and got up. He saw that it was none other than Jeno cooking something on the stove. "Hey... what are you doing?" Jaemin asked, while massaging his shoulder. Laying on the couch all night made him sore.
"Oh," Jeno flinched and turned around to see the younger. "Good morning. I just thought I'd make you breakfast."
"Why?"
"Why? Because I don't want to find out that you went all day without eating again."
"You didn't have to do that."
"I just did." Jeno sassed. He turned off the stove and picked up the pan he was cooking with. What he made was simple; scrambled eggs with mushrooms and shredded cheese melted in it. He set the food on a glass plate, got a fork, and placed it all on the island for Jaemin. "Here you go. Enjoy."
Jaemin glanced grumpily at Jeno, and then at the breakfast. The eggs and mushrooms were cooked just right, and it smelled amazing. His mouth was watering and his tummy begged for him to dig in. But of course, Jaemin was being too stubborn to move.
Jeno frowned and put his arms akimbo. "Why are you looking at it like that? Sit down and eat."
"You forgot to make my coffee." Jaemin joked.
"Seriously? I don't know how to use your coffee machine."
"It's easy. I can teach you."
"Sit."
Jaemin blinked, surprised from Jeno's firm tone. He sat on the barstool. "What's with the attitude?"
"What's with yours?" Jeno then turned away to put the dirty dishes he used into the sink.
Jaemin smirked, content that he successfully annoyed Jeno. He began to eat his breakfast... and the flavors were fireworks in his mouth. Everything tasted perfect.
Jeno noticed how focused Jaemin was on the meal, and he smiled knowing that he did a good job. "You're welcome."
"Thank you, wise ass." Jaemin spoke with his mouth full.
"So, do you have rehearsal today?" Jeno asked, leaning on the island.
"Yeah... I need to get ready soon."
"I see. Well, I was thinking... since I'm already here, I'll drop you off and pick you up later."
Jaemin shook his head while swallowing his last bite of food. "No, you don't need to do that. I can walk."
"I didn't ask."
This guy was really insistent this morning. "It's just that... you've already done so much." Jaemin said.
"Please, don't be modest. I got you." Jeno winked. He took Jaemin's plate and put it in the sink. "I'm going to be busy today, so I need to go home, too. That's why I figured I'd drop you off."
"Busy with what?"
"Rehearsing some songs for our next show, and finishing a new one we created. Which reminds me, I need to talk with my manager. And after I pick you up... maybe we'll go out tonight."
"I see."
"Yeah, so go ahead. Get ready! I'll clean the dishes for you!"
Jaemin nodded. Jeno was talking to him as if they had been in some long-term relationship... and to be honest, Jaemin was enjoying it. But he obviously wasn't going to show it. He got up and headed over to the stairs leading to his bedroom. "Be ready Jeno, because once I'm done, I'm leaving!"
