Zenitsu stared at her emotionlessly. Did he know this girl?

"What happened to you?" She asked, slowly approaching him. He backed away with every step she took. "Zenitsu, can you hear me?" Even though he had no idea who this woman was or what she was saying, he felt he could trust her. But at the same time, his blood felt disgusted by her.

He knew he needed her, but he also knew that she was the worst thing to ever exist.

Despite all this, he fled.

He didn't understand this woman, and that's not good.

"Zenitsu?! Please come back!" She shouted, hoping he'd stop.

What had happened to him? Had the years since he went missing taken that much of a toll on him? He seemed to be able to hear her song, but was it the only thing he heard?

So many questions but so little time. Tanjirou was calling, so he must be getting worried about her.

"Nezuko, did you get everything?" He asked the moment she answered. Should she tell him? She didn't even make it to the store yet.

"No... I didn't make it there yet..." She heard the blankets rustling as he was probably trying to get up. "I'm not hurt, brother! Promise. Just hear me out when I say this, okay?" The line was quiet for a moment before the blankets rustled again.

"Alright."

"I think I found Zenitsu..."

"What makes you say that?" Giyuu asked as he watched Shinobu scarf down some bread she stole from Sanemi's counter.

"Isn't it obvious, Giyuu?" She asked, smiling smugly.

"I just don't know what their numbers are..." She sighed at that.

"Is there anyone else that'd know your family?" He briefly glanced away for a moment.

"Yeah, but they died." Shinobu stopped mid-chew.

"You sure are a downer." She mumbled, swallowing the bite before wandering off.

"Do you even digest what you eat?" He asked, eliciting a soft giggle from her.

"What's gotten you so curious?"

"Wouldn't you be unable to eat since you're just part of me?" She tilted her head in thought for a moment.

"Good question for once, Giyuu," He rolled his eyes. "My body is being fed in the hospital, but my incorporeal form isn't." She explained, shoveling some cupcakes into her mouth.

"I see..." He mumbled.

"You wanna see something even more interesting?" He perked at this. "Command me to leave."

"Shinobu, leave." She suddenly disappeared. "... Shinobu, return." And then, she reappeared.

"I was going to tell you to summon me, but it looks like you already did it! Good job."

"I didn't need congrats." She snickered.

"Well, I already gave one."

"W-Where did you find him?!"

"By the forest. I think he might be a demon..." Tanjirou was quiet for a moment.

"Come home right now." He said with an angered tone.

"But what about—"

"Not important. I'll get those tomorrow. Just..." His voice broke for a moment. "Come home, please." She flinched.
