Adelina Celine Torres

The night is chilly, especially in my black dress that doesn't cover much of my upper body at all.

Besides my tatas, of course.

"Hi" I say, looking at Aaron who is leaned over the side of the balcony, looking at the beautiful view of hills my house has.

He turns to me with the usual blank look on his face, making it impossible for me to read what he is thinking.

"Hi" he responds, catching me off guard.

I don't know what I was expecting by coming out here, but I surely didn't expect him to actually talk to me.

I walk over to him and lean against the balcony wall. "You made my Papa very upset" I say, "He's not used to being told no"

Aaron looks like he almost smiled at my words, but didn't. "I apologize for last week, I shouldn't have bothered you." I say, since I can't seem to sit in a silence ever.

He doesn't respond, he just looks back to the view.

He pulls a cigar out of his pocket and lights it before bringing it to his lips. I watch creepily.

His eyes flicker to mine and I look away, my heart pounding because he caught me looking at him.

"What business do you do?" I ask, since he doesn't seem as hostile today opposed to last week. I might as well talk to him when he's in a good mood.

At my question he turns to me, dropping his cigar and snuffing it out with his foot.

I looking to the ground at the cigar dying on the floor, then look back up to his face. Realizing how close he is to me, I try to step back but I hit the brick of the balcony wall behind me.

Aaron leans forward, his arms on either side of me, caging me in. "You don't want to know, Adelina"

Can he hear my heart beating? Because I sure can. It's so loud it's ringing in my ears. The coldness of the night is no longer an issue, but the heat in my flushed face is.

I love hearing him say my name.

He is so very close to me I'm sure he can hear my heartbeat.

Then he turns and walks inside, leaving me on the balcony.

I stand there for a minute or two, just baffled by what happened. Nothing even happened you dramatic girl.

I sigh and pick up the cigar Aaron left on the floor, then go inside to search for a trash can to dispose of it in.

"That's so unfair Papa!" Avery whines, "He can't just leave!"

Papa sighs, "I'm sorry my love, you know the rumors of how he is, I told you not to be disappointed." Papa comforts her.

What rumors?

Avery is currently throwing a hissy fit about Aaron not giving her more attention while he was here, and leaving without saying goodbye to her.

I'm sitting on one of the living room chairs, just listening in.

"Nick's flight was delayed, but he should be here tomorrow" Mama says, changing the conversation.

Avery scoffs, "Who cares about him. Papa you must invite Aaron back!"

A smile forms on my lips at Avery desperately begging for a boys attention, something that has never happened before.
