Adelina Celine Torres
I'm an idiot.
Alyssa saw that Mr. Edwards was going to try something, but I was so oblivious and trusting, and now I'm paying for it. After crying until no more tears seem to be coming out, I take out my phone to see a missed call from Aaron.
I click on it to call him back, then clear my throat so he can't tell I have been crying.
"Adelina?" His voice instantly makes me calm down a little bit. I take a deep breath, then am about to talk but it just comes out as sobs.
"Where are you?" He asks. "A-at s-school" I say. Aaron hangs up, and I hold my phone close to my chest and try to catch my breath again. My chest hurts from crying.
Just minutes later someone knocks on my car window and I jump.
Turning to peek out, I see Aaron.
I open the door and get out, wrapping my arms around him.
I feel his arms wrap back around me, lifting me slightly off the ground. I bury my head in his neck as he holds me.
You're being dramatic, Lina. Mr. Edwards didn't even do anything. He probably didn't understand that what he did was inappropriate, you just took it the wrong way.
After hugging and crying into Aaron for way too long, he sets me down.
I sniffle and and look to the floor, unable to look Aaron in the eyes. He probably thinks I'm pathetic right now.
"Talk to me" he says, lifting my chin to get me to look at him.
I shake my head, my eyes blurry with tears. I blink them back and look into his dark brown eyes. His eyes fall from my face to my neck, then I feel him completely tense up as his eyes focus on something. His eyes move from my neck to my torso, and I realize my tank top is still messed up, one of the shoulder straps still off my shoulder, and the neckline pulled down under my bra.
He tilts my chin up and inspects my neck, then tilts my head back down and wipes my tears off of my face.
He takes my face in his hands and kisses my forehead.
"Let me take you home" he says. I shake my head, "I d-don't want to go home" I stutter out.
"My house?"
I nod, following Aaron to his car. I look back to my car, "I will get it" he says, reading my mind that I didn't want to leave it here.
The ride to Aaron's house is silent, and I just stare out the window. My legs are curled up against my chest. I glance at Aaron, who's grip on the steering wheel is turning his knuckles white.
I upset him.
Tears threaten to form at the thought, but I blink them back.
We arrive at his house and he walks me in.
"Lina!" Owen cheers when we walk into the house. Owen and Mike are in the kitchen, but both go quiet after they see me. I probably look like a rat, I don't blame them.
"Hi" I manage to get out, although my voice is shaky. They look to Aaron who puts his hand on the small of my back and guides me past them and to his bedroom.
"Do you want to shower?" He asks me. I nod, and go to his bathroom. I shut the door behind me and am face to face with a full length mirror.
My hair is in a rats nest, my face is puffy and wet from tears, my tank top is halfway off of me, and my upper body is covered in marks.
