"Stay still" I demand, "Please." I add to try and make it sound nicer.
"It's cold." Ronny argues as I squirt a large amount of aloe vera gel on my hand and rub it on his back. "You're bright red" I say.
"I put on sunscreen"
"Yeah, once the entire day. I told you to reapply and you just rolled your eyes at me and said you didn't need to, so here we are"
He scoffs, "I'm sorry do you want me to help cure your sun burn?" I say. He nods. "That's what I thought" I continue to apply the aloe, not feeling bad when he complains that it stings. Such a baby.
"All done" I tell him, "We will reapply later tonight" I wash my hands off in the sink, and turn to him putting a shirt back on. "Ron stop that will just rub the aloe off" I say. He groans and takes his shirt off, "You sure you don't just want to see me shirtless?" He teases.
I look away, "No"
"Ok now do some jumping jacks or something" I command him. He makes a confused face at me, "To dry off your back" I clarify. He doesn't move, does he know what a jumping jack is?
I mean he is from New York.
"Like this" I tell him, "I know what a fucking--
I start doing a few jumping jacks to show him, and he shuts up. Afterwards I say, "Got it?"
"No can you show me again?"
"No I am out of breath, now go" I say. He rolls his eyes and does a few jumping jacks, giving me a glare as he does them. After he does them for a minute, I pat his back, happy when it is dry.
"Now what?" He asks, "Now I get to pick a movie" I tell him, flopping on his couch. He comes beside me and sits, taking a blanket and putting it over us.
I love his couch. You melt right into the cushions and it has the perfect amount of leg room. It's just-- perfect.
"I don't get to pick?" He questions. "You're opinion on movies was revoked after your last choice" I tell him.
"That movie was good"
"I was peeing my pants"
"Toughen up"
"Sorry I don't enjoy watching naked people run around bloody and catching on fire"
"That's not even what happened"
"It was gross"
I click on the TV and search through all of his channels. He has Hulu, Disney Plus, Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video...literally every thing you could imagine. "Dude how much do you spend on subscriptions per month?"
He shrugs.
I shuffle through for a little bit until I find quite possibly the best movie ever: Mean Girls.
"The fuck is this?" He asks when I click on it, "A classic" I tell him, making him be quiet for now. We watch the movie and I ignore many of his comments about how cheesy or bad it is. Throughout the movie I feel us get closer to one another, so that by the end I am right against him and his arm is around me and holding onto my waist.
"You like it?" I ask afterwards. He shrugs, "Fine"
Oh em gee, "You liked it!" I exclaim. "No"
"Why did you care so much when Cady and Regina became friends at the end?"
"Because that's fucking stupid, why does everyone just become friends? The whole movie they're bitches then suddenly the whole school are best friends? No way"
