Chapter 9: Good Night

Manasseh's pov

The sound of small crying awoke me. "Ow" I mumbled. Who knew that waking up could be so painful. I looked up. There was a older teenager stitching up a cut on my sister's leg. "Winter, are you ok?" I practically whispered.

The teen's head shot up when he heard me. His sapphire eyes were filled with concern and in a pleasant voice answered, "Is she your sister?" I just nodded.

"May I ask what your name is?" he asked. "...Manasseh. "I answered reluctantly. "How old are you Manasseh?"  "I am sixteen. Where is Seth?"

He had a look of confutation his face but, then he answered "The other boy Seth, was taken by my friend, Ekoo to my house. She is taking care of him."

"Oh. Well, what is your name?" I asked. " Aaron." He replied concentrating on my sisters leg. " Winter, do you hurt much?" I asked as I painfully set up beside her. "

"Not no more" she said slowly as she stopped crying." Aaron gave me a shot to nu num numbee.... um....numb it. yea that's it! " " Expanding your vocabulary sis? " I asked. She nodded, giggling.

Aaron's pov

I listened to the siblings talk while I stitched the young girls leg. They must have a good relationship. I grabbed my bag that Ek brought.

I took out a bandage and begin wrapping her leg up. She winced a little bit when I pulled it tight but that was all. " ok." I said when I was finished. "

Manasseh, I am going to pick up your sister as carry to my house. Can you walk with us?" "I think so." He said starting to stand up. I grabbed the young girl under her arms and held her like a baby.

" You are strong, Aaron." Winter said. " Why, think you, Winter." I replied smiling slightly. Manasseh limped a little as we walked but, other than that he was fine. " Here we are." I told Manasseh.

How are we going to get up there" Manasseh asked. " I will show you in a second." I answered.

Ekoo's pov

As I looked out side I saw Aaron, the boy, and the young girl at the base of the tree house. I walked to the edge of the tree house and jumped off. " Don't jum.....! " Yelled the boy just as I unfolded my wings and drifted down.

I smiled at the boy and the girl there faces filled with astonishment." Ek." Aaron called. "Can you take Winter." " Ya, she should be no trouble."

I said, Taking the girl an fling to the front door and walking inside I laid her on the love seat.

" Sorry we have no night clothes for you but here is some blankets." I said covering her up." Thanks." She whispered as she started to fall quickly asleep.

Manasseh's pov

I gasped as Ekoo took Winter to the front door and went in. I spun around quickly hoping for some answers but just gasped again when I saw Aaron's massive wings.

"Manasseh, I am going to pick you up and fly you to the font door,so jump on my back." Aaron said in a soft and kind voice. "K" I replied as I put my arms around his neck.

Then he lifted my legs like I was a feather and flew me to the door. He let me down and gave me some of his old pj's and showed me to a bed that must have been his parents.

Seth was also in some pj's and sleeping peacefully in the bed " It's only a few hours to dawn but you need your rest. Aaron said " ok." I replied as he left the room shutting the door. Then I heard him say, " Night " as he walked down the hall.
