They are swimming together in the pond under the stars. It past the curfew, but they couldn't care less, they are happy, swimming under the stars and the moons light, for them it was so peaceful. The teens loved being together even if that meant that they would only be able to see each other at midnight.

She was a mermaid, while he was a merman, but being in different friend groups made them separate for good. His friends hated her friends and if any of them found out about their relationship it would be considered betrayal, and they would be left with no friends and no dignity.

The pond was their safe space, the place that they could be together, seeking eachothers comfort and presence. They didn't mind, they could spend the whole night swimming and laughing, in eachothers comfort. Sometimes you could hear her laugh at a joke that he made or you could see him getting frustrated about something she said.

"Kent, stop! Stop dragging me by my tail" she said between laughs, but he continued getting more giggles and screams from her. They played, swam, even hunted in the night under the gentle light of the stars.

  This is how they spended most of the nights, in eachothers presence, not caring about anyones opinion, but in the morning they became strangers again.
