Esmyrie is standing by her father, for he is about to depart and lead the land team, but before he goes he wants to say goodbye to his daughter.

"Now listen to me clear, sweetheart. I'm glad Jake is allowing you and your friends to go. I am, truly. You are a warrior and I know that. Jake knows that. Everyone knows that. But I need you to listen and I need you to promise to follow Jakes lead. All of it. If he says to stay in the air the whole time. You do that. If he says to leave, you leave. And don't you ever, ever go back for me if something goes wrong. Okay?" Nilar says, crouching down to be level with Esmyrie.

"But dad-" Esmyrie begins, before she see's the look he is giving her, and shuts her mouth.

"We don't expect anything to go wrong. But things happen. We don't know what's going to happen, we hope we do, but we just don't. I need to know that my daughter will be safe..." Nilar says looking deep into his daughters eyes, knowing she is a mighty warrior and that she is ready for this fight.

"I will be safe dad. I promise. You need to promise me to." Esmyrie says, giving her father a pleading glance. "I can't lose you. You're all I have left, father...." Esmyrie mumbles sadly.

"I'll be safe. And when this is over, we can come back home and have fish stew, your favorite, yeah?" Nilar asks, smiling widely when his daughter gives him a wide excited grin.

"Now, I have to speak with Jake before we go. But I'll see you once it's all over, okay. Fly safe my dear." Nilar says, giving his daughter a big hug and a kiss to the forehead.

Esmyrie nods, and hugs her father back, not wanting to let go but knowing she has to.

When Nilar leaves, she hears someone approaching behind her, and shrieks when she feels someone lift her by the waist.

"Lo'ak!" She yells out, laughing, seeing the boy have a smirk on his face.

"Hey! Don't look at me, Neteyam is the one that dared me to do it. He is always so serious, but he says it's time to go." Lo'ak chuckles out, seeing the irritated expression on her face from him scaring her.

She looks over to Neteyam, giving him a glare, which Neteyam ignores and waves at her kindly. For Neteyam knows he could never actually have her mad at him.

"I'll get you back Netty!" Esmyrie yells out, and that's when Neteyam looks away embarrassed.

The nickname was one Esmyrie has been calling Neteyam for years. When she was younger, she couldn't pronounce his name, and so the name 'Netty' came to be. She knows now that Neteyam is older, he dislikes it, but it sometimes is just habit for her to call him that.

"And you Lo'ak, I would be careful, I may just sneak in while you are asleep and tie your tail in a knot!" Esmyrie lightheartedly threatens.

"You would do that... to me?" Lo'ak acts offended, but he isn't, he knows she is just joking, but it is always fun to rile her up.

"Oh shutup you." Esmyrie sighs, slightly punching Lo'ak on the shoulder before walking over to Neteyam and his Ikran.
