You, JJ, and Emily got dressed up on a Monday you all had off. You kept Henry home from preschool and told him it was a very special day. You and JJ helped him pick out and put on his most special outfit, got Amelia dressed, and waited for Emily to arrive. You promised Henry a big breakfast as soon as it was over. You would all go out together after you were finally married.

Emily drove herself to the courthouse; you and JJ, of course, went together with the kids. With the two car seats in the back, there wouldn't have been much space for Emily, so it was for the best that she drove separately.

You didn't care about vows or ceremonial things. You and JJ had devoted enough of yourselves to one another that any further promises would mean less than the life you already shared. You just wanted to make this commitment to one another to hopefully solidify this future together.

Henry finally understood what was happening, and jumped around excitedly anytime something sounded significant to him. Emily held Amelia in her arms and put her other hand on Henry's head to keep track of him; she wanted you and JJ to focus entirely on one another. After you had finished all the necessary legal parts, you pulled out the rings and put them on each other's finger. JJ pulled you into a kiss and wrapped her arms around you to hold you close. After she finished kissing you, she hugged you and whispered in your ear, "I love you so much,"

"I love you too, Jayje."

"Mommy get married?" asked Henry, smiling and jumping around. JJ picked him up and kissed his cheek. "Yeah?"

"Uh-huh! You ready to go have a big breakfast? With Amelia and Aunt Emily and Mama and me?"

"We celebrate!" he exclaimed.

He was relatively well behaved at the restaurant, and Amelia wasn't too fussy either — only when she was hungry. Emily had finished her meal first, so she offered to give Amelia her bottle.

As you waited for the check, JJ grabbed your hand under the table and touched your ring with her thumb. Emily saw you smile from across the table, and mirrored that smile. JJ muttered, "You always say I look like Henry, but we never talk about how much you and Emily look alike. Especially when you smile,"

"Yeah?" you asked. She squeezed your hand.

"Yeah." She tucked some hair behind your ear, and Emily smiled at you both before looking back down at the baby. JJ whispered, "I love you, and I love being your wife." You weren't too comfortable with overt public affection, which JJ knew, so instead of kissing you as she wanted to, she just squeezed your hand and smiled at you.

"I love you too," you whispered. You turned to your sister and said, "Thank you for doing this, Em. We appreciate you being here, and your discretion,"

"Yeah, we really wanna shock everyone. And we didn't wanna make a big thing out of it with everybody, so we'd rather just do it privately. But you're really...you're important to us," JJ said with a shrug and a smile. "So, yeah. Thank you for doing this for us,"

"Of course. I love you both, and your kids." Henry giggled as Emily looked at him. The check came, and as JJ got her wallet out, Emily said, "No, guys, let me get it. I'm buying,"

"No, Em..." you said.

"No, come on. I've got it. I'm not taking no for an answer. Let me pay,"

"Emily, no, you've already—"

"Jayje. It's nothing. I've got it."

The next day, you went back to work — JJ was still home with Amelia — and after the morning briefing, when you were all still at the roundtable, Morgan furrowed his brow. "You got a new ring, Prentiss?" Unlike the usual situation, when you and Emily were unsure as to whom he was speaking, you both knew just what he meant. You nodded, fighting the smile you wanted to show. Everyone's attention was now on you.

"Is that from JJ?" asked Reid.

"Yeah."

Your evasiveness caught the attention of all the profilers. Rossi chuckled, "I've been around the block enough times to know what this is. Did you and JJ get married?"

You grinned and chuckled cheekily, "Maybe..."

"Hey, congratulations!" people cheered, clapping you on the back and taking turns hugging you.

"Oh my gosh, why didn't you tell us?" Garcia exclaimed, giving you a playfully angry hit on the arm. "You—JJ—ugh! Come on! Why didn't you tell us?"

"Because you guys would want to throw us a party, and we didn't want that. We just wanted to be married, not to have a big celebration. We went to the courthouse with the kids and Emily, got married, and then went to breakfast and spent the day together with the kids. We didn't want anything big."

Getting home to your wife and kids was a glorious new feeling. Your wife. She was giving Amelia a bottle on the couch, so she stayed there and called out, "Hey, baby! In the living room,"

"Hi!" You knew by the volume of her voice that Amelia wasn't asleep. You put your bag down and sat beside her and your baby girl. "How are my girls?" you asked, putting your head on JJ's shoulder and staring down at Amelia's little face.

"We're good. How was work? Did people say anything?"

"Yeah. They all know now. Morgan noticed the ring, Rossi connected the dots. Penelope wasn't happy with us for not telling her, but she's happy for us. So's everyone else." You held her arm and snuggled a little closer to JJ, then stroking Amelia's head. "I love you, Jen. My beautiful wife, with whom I have a beautiful family. I love you endlessly,"

"I love you too, angel." She kissed your hairline and rested her head on yours.
