Emily came over the next day after work to play with the kids. She loved her niece and nephew very much, and she loved spending time with her sister and her sister-in-law.

Later in the evening, as she gave Amelia a bottle while Henry played on the floor, Emily suggested, "You guys should have a date night. I can watch the kids. You don't have to pay me like you would your babysitter, you don't have to worry about inconveniencing anyone or paying more or anything if you're later than expected, you can do whatever. I'd love to take care of these kids."

JJ put a hand on your leg and said to Emily, "I mean, we can think about it. Work's been tough for us, leaving her, but a date might be good. Thanks for the offer, Em. We'll talk about it, yeah, hon?"

"Yeah, for sure. Thanks, Em,"

"We could also do it when Henry's at Will's, so you just have one,"

"We'll think about it," you said quietly. All three of you knew that JJ was more enthusiastic about it than you were, but Emily paid attention to your daughter rather than your hesitation. "Thank you, Emily,"

"Anything for my sister. Oh, she's sleepy?" she said about Amelia in a high baby voice. "Are you sleepy, Amelia?"

"Sometimes she gets sleepy when she eats," you said with a smile.

"She's a sweetheart."

After Emily left and the kids were put to bed, you and JJ laid in bed watching TV, with your head on her chest as she played with your hair and gave you intermittent kisses.

"Hey, babe? Are you doing okay? You seemed a little down while Emily was here,"

"Yeah, I'm okay. I'm tired today. That, and I don't know how I feel about...well, I don't know. Nevermind. I need to think about it,"

"No, what's up? I want to hear how you're feeling, sweet girl. It's okay if the thoughts aren't put together; I'd like to hear them anyway."

You closed your eyes for a moment. "I still have anxiety about leaving her. I love Emily, and of course I trust her, I'm just..." You let out a shaky exhale. "I'm sorry,"

"Stop apologizing for your feelings." She ran her fingers through your hair. "I know you're anxious, and that's totally okay. What if we didn't go out until she was asleep? We wouldn't have to be out for long — we can just go to dinner and come home. I feel like it'd be good for us to get out of the house for something other than work. If she's sleeping, Em won't have much to do anyway. Amelia's been sleeping through the night for the most part, so I'm pretty confident she won't wake up in the couple hours Emily's here. We can think about it, but you know how I feel. If you're not okay, sweetheart, I'm not gonna drag you out of the house,"

"Okay," you mumbled.

"Do you know how much I love you?"

"Mhm. I love you so much, Jenny. I think we could do something. We'd have to find a good time for me to be okay with it,"

"Yeah, okay. Maybe next Friday or something, if Em's available. Henry will be with Will. We can be out for as long or as short a time as we want. Think about it for me, m'kay?"

"Okay, Jayje. I will. Can I please kiss you?"

She laughed and said, "Of course you can, pretty girl. Always." JJ put her arm around your back and held you as you kissed. Against your lips, she mumbled, "You make me so, so happy, Y/N. No matter what, I'm always gonna love you. I love all the time I get to spend with you, no matter how it's spent. Let's get some sleep now. Roll over, let me hold you."

You were happy to do it; you both loved being close as you slept and loved falling asleep to affection. You rolled over so she could spoon you and place kisses on the back of your neck and shoulder. Already falling asleep, you said, "Night. I love you,"

"I love you too. Goodnight, sweet girl."

Amelia woke up crying early the next morning, so you went and got her out of her crib. As you were changing her diaper, you saw your son in the doorway holding his blanket. "You can go back to bed, buddy, it's okay,"

"Is Amelia okay?" he asked. You could hear that he was still sleepy. You wrapped her in her fresh diaper, used a fresh wipe on your hands, and looked down at him with a smile.

"Yeah, she's fine. I bet you wouldn't be too comfy if you pooped your pants, right?" He giggled. You gave his neck a tickle with a smile on your face. "No, I'm sure you wouldn't." You sat in the rocking chair and started to breastfeed Amelia. "Come here, buddy." You took Henry in your free arm and held him in your lap.

Eventually, Amelia fell asleep again — it was much earlier than she usually woke — so you placed her in the crib, sat with Henry in the chair, and held him on his own. He was quiet, so there was no worry of him waking up Amelia. He loved to look over at her, watch her sleep, make funny faces to see if she would notice. After a half-hour or forty-five minutes, you heard him mumble, "Night-night, Mama..." before falling asleep a couple minutes later.

You brushed his thin hair with your fingers while he slept. Everything was so peaceful for a little while. An hour after you had originally gotten out of bed, JJ showed up in the doorway to the nursery, cup of coffee in hand, watching you try not to nod off while Henry slept in your arms. She came over and asked in the softest whisper, "You want me to take him?"

"No," you replied. "I'm gonna go back to bed. He can come lay in our bed, yeah?"

"Yeah, go 'head." JJ helped make sure you and Henry got into bed without disturbing him, and then kissed your forehead and whispered, "I'll be in the living room if you need me, angel. I love you,"

"Love you too, Jen."
