Chapter-16

When Kaira opened her eyes, she was in a hospital. She looked around and found her father and another man standing with him.

When her father saw her, he asked her how she was feeling?

She said, "I'm fine. But why am I here?? What happened??"

He said, "You met with an accident while returning from Australia."

She interrupted, "Australia?? Why did I go there??"

He shrugged.

Then suddenly asked, "Don't you remember??"

"No. I don't remember going there. I just remember that I just completed my graduation and I went to the graduation party."

"Graduation party?? It was......"

He couldn't understand, so he called the doctor.

The doctor came and examined a few things.

He asked him to come out and asked Kaira to rest.

Outside her cabin, the doctor said, "Sorry to inform this but she may have lost the memory of last 2 years. But it's temporary. If the things or the people she met, come infront of her, she can recover those memories back."

Her father was shocked. Then he thought something and nodded.

He went inside and said, "Kaira, this is Richard. Your fiance."

Kaira was shocked. But she decided to hear him first.

He introduced them and left saying that he was going to get some medicines.

Now Kaira and Richard were all alone in the room. Richard started talking to her. Kaira found that, he was a very open and funky person. But deep inside, she felt empty. As if something very important was missing. She couldn't understand this feeling.

Richard took this as an opportunity and revealed the truth of her memory loss.

She was shocked. She couldn't believe him. Then after giving her some instances, she believed him.

She thought, "Why did dad hide such a huge thing from me?? Doesn't he want me to recover soon??"

Then she asked Richard again, "Can you please tell me about us, about everything you know that happened during these 2 years. Please??"

He nodded and said, "Yeah, sure. But that's a lot. I won't be able to explain each and everything to you here. So, if you are comfortable, then I would insist you on staying with me for a few days."

"But..........."

"Don't worry. You'll be safe. I won't do anything which is wrong." He said assuring her.

After thinking for a while, she decided, "Come on, Kaira. You can stay with him. After all he is your fiance. And at a major note, you are getting an opportunity to know the things that you've forgotten. After knowing the truth, you'll do whatever you find suitable. Atleast give him a chance."

She finally agreed.

When Mr. Lopez came to know this, he was so delighted that he didn't even think before answering. He gave her the permission to stay with him.

But on the other hand he had already done his work. He had removed every evidence of Kaira's marriage and relationship with Kevin.

There Kevin had turned into a total different person or say a machine, who showed no other emotions except for anger on the outside and deep inside loneliness and guilt. In other words, he was depressed. He couldn't sleep at nights. He tried calling her but there was no response. He went to the hotel, they said she already checked out few days ago. Not getting any news from her, he finally decided to check on Mr. Lopez. But there also, he found nothing.

When he was about to give up, one of his men, informed him about Richard. He said that he was the one with whom Mr. Lopez wanted Kaira to marry but she escaped.

Kevin ordered, "I want every single detail of this guy asap."

His man nodded and left.

Next hour he came with a file and handed it to him.

Kevin glanced at it and smirked as if he came up with an idea.

Here, after a few days, Kaira was discharged from the hospital. She went home with Richard.

She was happy with him, but deep inside something very important was missing.

Richard was slowly telling her everything that he knew about her.

As a return gift, Kaira made him the meals.

Richard was getting used to it. He now deeply fell in love with her. So he decided to confess it to her.

He planned a dinner date and asked her too. She smiled and agreed.

At night, they went together. Kaira looked everywhere. It was a beautiful place, decorated with colorful lights.

Suddenly, she got flashes of memories.

She was with someone who proposed to her infront of nearly a hundred people.

She managed to control herself. They had their dinner together. After dinner, they shared a beautiful dance.

Finally, when Richard bent on his knees to confess, Kaira again got some flashes but this time, the effects were stronger.

She said, "I'm really sorry Richard, but can we go home. I'm not at all feeling well. I'm really sorry to ruin this beautiful moment. Please can we??"

He looked concerned and nodded. He was a bit sad but her health was his first priority. So they returned.
