You Are mine

Chapter-6

All day long, she couldn't focus on her work. The conversation between her and Kevin and then his sudden proposal was going around her head. She was unable to ignore her thoughts.

The day passed. Kaira reached home. Got changed and went to Kevin's flat.

There he was sitting on the couch reading some documents.

She walked towards him and took the file. He looked at her confused. He couldn't understand why did she take that file.

She told him, "I asked you to not to come office, so that you could rest. But now by seeing this, I don't think that you have rested all day, Mr. Kevin??"

He smiled cheekily.

She said, "Let it be. Do whatever you want to. I won't say anything. Who am I to command you. Just a neighbour??"

Kevin remained silent.

She continued, "Forget it. Let's get to the point. Whatever you told me, I mean about your proposal, I thought about it....."

Kevin interrupted her, "So, what do you think???" He looked a little excited to hear her decision.

She said, "If you let me complete, then only I'll tell you right??"

He put his finger on his lips and looked at her. Seeing his behaviour, Kaira couldn't say anything but smile.

She continued, "Even after thinking all day long, I couldn't come to a conclusion."

It looked like Kevin's excitement was only there for a moment, which now turned into nervousness.

He wanted to say something, but he decided to stay silent and hear her out first.

She said, "Then I thought, what's wrong in getting married to you than to some stranger."

This brought a smile on his face again.

"But, I think we should set some rules, so that we don't face any problem." She said thinking something.

Hearing this, his expressions changed instantly.

"What type of rules?? And what kind of problems???" Kevin asked in a shocked tone.

Kaira still looked not so sure about his proposal. That was the reason for which she wanted to set rules among them.

She took a notepad, and started scribbling down something.

"Ok then. Let's note down some rules."

Kevin didn't want to, but he decided to keep quiet and follow her.

She continued, "So, the first rule shall be,

- You should allow me to work and earn on my own.

Kevin nodded, "Ok.... That works."

Then he added,

- As we're getting married, we shall live together under the same roof. And most importantly, YOU WON'T PAY ANY RENT.

Kaira wanted to say something, but she remained silent seeing Kevin's stern expressions. Then she said, "Fine".

She then continued,

- Although we'll be staying in the same house, but we shall be having different rooms....

Kevin interrupted, "What if, my mom comes to visit us??"
